Arrival in Zürich or Basel
You'll arrive in Switzerland with flights landing by 3 pm, then head to the ship and get settled into your suite. After checking out your cabin, you'll have dinner on board and explore the ship before it departs for Breisach later in the evening.

Black Forest and Rhine Valley
Today you can pick what appeals to you most. There's a relaxing bike ride along the Rhine, or you might go for the full-day guided tour to the Black Forest with stops at the Vogtsbauernhof open-air museum and a traditional butter-making demonstration. Freiburg's medieval city center is another option, plus there's an optional morning trip to Colmar if you want to add that in.

Strasbourg
You can bike through Strasbourg or take a city sightseeing tour that covers the Gothic cathedral with its stained-glass windows and astronomical clock, then moves through the La Petite France district. If you're interested in history, optional excursions include the Maginot Line or wine country in Alsace. The afternoon leaves time to wander through museums or the city center on your own.

Start your morning with a walk in Heidelberg along the Philosophers' way, then visit Heidelberg Castle to see the Renaissance ruins and the World's Largest Wine Barrel. Alternatively, explore Mainz with a guided tour including the Gutenberg Museum. This evening, live entertainment plays on board as you sail to Rüdesheim.

Rüdesheim and Rhine Gorge to Koblenz
You'll have several options in Rüdesheim. Hike through the vineyards, visit the Mechanical Music Museum with authentic Rüdesheimer coffee tasting, or tour Johannisberg Castle and its wooden-barrel cellar with wine tasting included. Later, the ship sails through the UNESCO World Heritage Rhine Gorge past ancient cliffside castles and the legendary Rock of the Lorelei. You'll have free time in Koblenz before dinner and live entertainment on board.

In Cologne, you can bike with your Adventure Host, explore the city's Jewish heritage sites on a walking tour, or take a guided walk to see the soaring twin-steepled gothic cathedral. Free time lets you sample Kölsch pale lager, which has been locally brewed for over 100 years. The evening brings your departure to Amsterdam.

Plenty of free time to walk through colorful streets, check out canal houses, galleries, and shops.

This morning you'll board a high-speed train to Paris and get settled on your Avalon Suite Ship. After checking into your cabin, dinner awaits on board this evening before the ship departs for Vernon.

Vernon and Les Andelys
Walk through Vernon and explore Chateau des Tourelles, or head to Giverny to see Claude Monet's residence and his famous gardens. Bizy Castle (known as Normandy's Versailles) is another option if that interests you. You'll enjoy a traditional French luncheon with authentic crêpes and a pastry demonstration while sailing, then cruise to Les Andelys in the afternoon. There you can hike to Château Gaillard ruins or take a walking tour of this scenic Seine town.
