    You'll arrive in Bucharest and have the afternoon and evening to yourself. Take time to wander through the city's trendy neighborhoods, poking into local shops and cafés. If you're interested in history, there are several museums worth checking out, and Victory Avenue has some beautiful architecture with historic churches and homes lining the street.

    Bucharest to Oltenita (Embarkation)

    This morning starts with a guided tour covering Bucharest's tree-lined boulevards and the Arc de Triomphe, which commemorates WWI soldiers. You'll see Royal Palace Square, where significant events unfolded during the 1989 revolution. In the afternoon, head to Oltenita where you'll board your ship. Spend the evening getting familiar with the vessel and enjoy your first dinner on board as your river journey begins.

From there, continue to the Golubacki Fortress, one of Europe's well-preserved medieval fortresses.

    We would like to thank our Statesman Attendee that took care of all our needs in our room 107. He was friendly and did an amazing job, Marisio our waiter served us with the highest respect and friendliness. Over all Avalon have very good staff and always a smile- nothing too much trouble. The ship was so clean, food was spectacular. We had a surprise group of singers Gwen and Charles who brought great entertainment. The other entertainer was amazing. Loved the top deck BBQ. We met lots of new friends aboard. Thank you Avalon for a trip well executed.
