Itinerary
- Day 1
Stueng Trang or Kampong Cham to Angkor Ban
You'll get picked up from your hotel early in the morning for the drive to the embarkation point, which takes around 4.5 hours to Stueng Trang or Kampong Cham (or a 9am transfer if water levels are high). Once you board and settle into your cabin, there's a welcome lunch buffet and safety briefing. In the afternoon, you'll head out by bus to explore the highlands of Kampong Cham, stopping at artisan communities like Cheung Krok and checking out the seasonal bamboo bridge. By sunset you're back on the ship heading to Angkor Ban for the night. The evening brings a welcome event with canapés and prosecco, and there's a cinema showing.

Landmarks Cheung Krok Angkor Ban - Day 2
Angkor Ban to Phnom Penh
Start with a morning Tai Chi session before exploring Angkor Ban village and its monastery. You'll meet monks during their morning classes and chat with locals. After sailing back downstream toward Phnom Penh, there's a stop at Prek Bangkong, a silk weaving community where you can watch and learn how silk gets made. You'll also visit the house of architect H.E. Sam-El. The rest of the day is yours to relax on the cruise past Phnom Penh's skyline and along the Tonle River heading north. Dinner is a multi-course meal followed by a movie, and the ship stays anchored overnight in the middle of the Tonle River.

Tonle River to Phnom Penh
You'll explore Kampong Laeang in the Tonle ecosystem across from the pottery town of Kampong Chhnang. Tuk-tuks take you out to see rural Cambodian life, meet locals, and learn about pottery making. There's a pre-Angkorian temple visit with views across swamplands and rice fields. Back on the boat for lunch and afternoon tea, then you head to Kampong Tralach. An oxcart ride takes you through rice fields to a small village where you can visit a local NGO school and library project, or explore a 300-year-old temple and Buddha shrine instead. Later, the ship cruises down the Tonle River toward Phnom Penh and anchors in the city's center for the night.

Phnom Penh
You'll explore Phnom Penh by cycle rickshaw, seeing French colonial architecture, the Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda, and S21 prison, a significant site from the Khmer Rouge era. After lunch at a local restaurant, you visit Sosoro, one of Cambodia's most known history museums. A leisurely walk through the French Quarter brings you to Wat Phnom monument before heading back to the ship. Dinner is a barbecue on the sun deck with a traditional dance performance featuring Cambodian Apsara dancers and Khmer musicians along with incense. There's also a chance for an evening stroll along the waterfront.

Mekong River to Tan Chau
After departing, your morning and afternoon are free to relax into cruise mode. You can get a massage, sunbathe on the terrace deck, rest on your private balcony, or visit the bridge to hear the captain's stories. There's an optional culinary workshop if Khmer cooking interests you. As afternoon tea is served, you cross into Vietnam and reach Tan Chau, a slow-paced border town with a large Chinese, Kinh, and Khmer community. The ship moors with a view of the riverbanks for the night.

Landmarks Tan Chau - Day 6
Tan Chau to My An Hung
You'll explore Tan Chau by traditional Xelois transport, check out the local market, and visit a Cao Dai temple where a priest explains its unique beliefs and spirit. A family-run fish farm is on the agenda too. After lunch and a siesta, watch a presentation about Mekong Delta life as the boat continues to My An Hung near Sa Dec province. This charming village shows you local household life, seasonal vegetable fields, and traditional farming. A Vietnamese tea tasting happens in a local family's home with fresh tropical fruits and a traditional dragon dance performance. Back on the ship, there's a complimentary cocktail hour and poolside snacks with music and dancing before dinner.

My An Hung to Cai Be
Wake early to see the delta come alive at dawn, then join a morning Tai Chi session before a hearty breakfast buffet. A local boat takes you to Binh Thanh, one of the larger Mekong islands, where you walk through the village and see traditional mat-making while meeting residents who've lived there their whole lives. You continue to Cai Be and Tan Phong Island. After lunch on board, visit a small family handicraft workshop in Cai Be to learn how rice paper, coconut sweets get made, and longan fruits are dried. A smaller boat takes you to Tan Phong Island for a local family's orchard with tropical fruits, a buggy ride across the island, and weavers crafting water hyacinth fiber mats and rattan. Afternoon tea follows, and at sunset you join the crew for a farewell dinner with music and dancing.

My Tho to Ho Chi Minh City
You'll have your final breakfast on board the Jayavarman. After breakfast, you disembark and get a bus transfer from My Tho to Ho Chi Minh City, which is about 70 km away. You'll arrive in Ho Chi Minh City in the morning and transfer to your separately booked hotel. That's the end of your tour.
