Cartagena
Your guide meets you at the airport and takes you to your hotel in Cartagena. Once you're settled, the rest of the day is open for you to wander around the area and get your bearings.

Cartagena
After breakfast, a guided walking tour takes you through Cartagena's old town with its UNESCO-listed cobblestone streets and historic walls. You'll have the afternoon free to spend however you like, whether that's more exploring or just relaxing.

Cartagena to Mompox
You head southeast to Mompox on your own to explore this UNESCO World Heritage Site along the Magdalena River. The colonial architecture and historic churches are worth seeing, and you can check out the silversmiths working in their shops or even try making something yourself.

Landmarks/POIs Mompox Magdalena River - Day 4
Mompox
A local English-speaking guide takes you through Mompox's main attractions including the central cemetery, churches like Iglesia Santa Bárbara and San Francisco Monastery, colonial homes, museums, and goldsmith workshops where you'll learn about filigree work. Later in the afternoon, you'll take a boat through the pre-Columbian canals and lakes where monkeys, iguanas, caimans, manatees, and birds show up regularly. Stick around for the sunset over the water.

Mompox to Cartagena
After breakfast, the drive back to Cartagena takes about 6 to 7 hours. Once you arrive, you have free time to do what you want. That evening, there's an optional 2-hour rum tasting in the colorful Getsemani district if you're interested in trying some of Colombia's rums.
