Itinerary
- Day 1
Marrakech to Imlil
You'll drive about 90 minutes south from Marrakech into the High Atlas Mountains, heading toward the village of Imlil where your guide meets you. From there, you trek through the Mizane Valley and pass by the Sidi Chamharouch shrine, stopping midway for a picnic lunch. The trail continues upward to Toubkal Refuge, where you'll spend the night. The refuge has hot showers and a fireplace, so you can warm up after a full day of walking.

Toubkal Refuge
This is an early start. You'll head out at dawn to tackle the Ouanoukrim twins, which are the second and third highest peaks in the High Atlas. The views from up there take in Mount Toubkal and the surrounding mountain terrain, and it's genuinely impressive if the weather cooperates. After you finish, you head back down to Toubkal Refuge for lunch, then spend the rest of the afternoon resting since tomorrow involves a bigger climb.

Once you reach the summit at 13,671 feet, you get panoramic views across the entire High Atlas range and across Morocco itself if visibility is good. The descent back to the refuge takes a bit longer, so you'll arrive with time to rest before dinner.
