Bangkok

Damnoen Saduak Floating Market
Head out early for a 2-hour drive to Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, about 100 km from Bangkok. You'll take a traditional long-tail boat through the floating village where vendors are active from roughly 8 am to 11 am, and you can choose to explore by 4-seat boat or walk the river banks. After lunch, return to Bangkok to see Wat Pho with its massive gold-plated Reclining Buddha. The day finishes at the Royal Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew, where you'll see the Emerald Buddha.

Ayutthaya
Drive 1.5 hours through Bangkok's rural areas to reach Ayutthaya History Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site and former Thai capital for 417 years. Walk through ancient temple ruins like Wat Yai Chaimongkol with its massive reclining Buddha and Wat Mahathat where tree roots wrap around a Buddha head. Try the local snack Roti Sai Mai (Sweet Angel Hair) while you're there. Around 1 pm, board the Chao Phraya River cruise with buffet lunch included while viewing royal barges, temples, and riverside life. You'll return to Bangkok by around 4 pm with coffee breaks provided.

The rest of the day is free, so you can relax at your hotel or check out nearby temples in the old city such as Wat Chiang Man, Wat Chedi Luang, or Wat Pra Singh. ThaPae Gate is also worth a visit if you feel like exploring.

Elephant Jungle Sanctuary
Your morning involves a half-day at Elephant Jungle Sanctuary where you spend time with elephants in their natural habitat. You'll be picked up from your hotel and driven through agricultural areas to reach the sanctuary. After meeting your English-speaking guide and learning about the elephants, you'll change into traditional Karen clothing. Armed with bananas and sugar cane, you'll walk through the sanctuary to feed, touch, and interact with free-roaming elephants. Later, head to Doi Suthep Mountain to climb 309 steps (or take a tram for a small fee) to Wat Phra That temple at the top. This sacred northern Thai temple provides panoramic views of Chiang Mai from its hilltop location.
