  1. Day 1

    Temuco to Pucon

You'll arrive at La Araucania Airport in Temuco and pick up your rental car. Depending on when your flight lands, there's time to walk through some of Temuco's main spots. Ñielol Hill gives you panoramic views across the city, and the history museum has an impressive collection of Mapuche textiles and jewelry if you're interested in local culture. From there, it's about a two-hour drive south to Pucon, where you'll settle in near Llanquihue Lake with volcano views in the distance.

  2. Day 2

    Pucon

Today you're heading into Huerquehue National Park, which sits about 12,500 hectares of protected forest just east of Pucon. You've got two trail options depending on your energy level. The Tres Lagos y Ñirrico trail covers 8km and takes about 6 hours with a guide (summer only), passing three different lakes and stopping at educational spots about the ecosystem. If you prefer something shorter, the Ñirrico path is just 700m and takes roughly 2 hours on your own, with nine educational stations along the way. Both routes show off the park's mix of different plants and wildlife.

    Optional Activities

    • Tres Lagos y Ñirrico guided excursion - 8km trail with lakes Verde, Toro, Chico and ecosystem education (6 hours round trip, summer only)
    • Ñirrico self-guided trail - 700m path with nine educational stations about vegetation and fauna (approximately 2 hours)

  3. Day 3

    Pucon

You'll drive out to Huife Hot Springs, a thermal resort complex sitting at 400m elevation about 133km from Temuco next to the Liocura River. The setting's surrounded by Andean landscape, which adds to the experience. You can relax in several types of pools including outdoor ones with quartz pebbles for reflexology, individual thermal baths, and natural pools right by the river. The resort also has a sauna, hydromassage facilities, and massages if you want therapeutic services. It operates year-round and welcomes families.

  4. Day 4

    Pucon

This morning takes you to Geometricas Hot Springs (formerly Cajón Negro), a modern thermal resort within Villarica National Park near Coñaripe. Architect Germán del Sol designed the place with distinctive geometric wooden architecture that fits into the forest setting. There's a particularly notable wooden footbridge that crosses a ravine 450 meters above where the thermal waters flow underground. You'll split your time between soaking in the natural hot springs and taking in the architectural design that makes this spot different from typical thermal resorts.

One of the best tours of my life! Everything was perfect! Before going, Marilda, the Tour agent, addressed my questions and adapted the tour to suit my needs. The guides, especially JP, were knowledgeable about the region's geography and history. The meals provided in the tour were excellent (the places we stopped for lunch, and even the box meal). And the landscape….Torres del Paine is one of the most beautiful places on Earth! Highly recommend this tour!
