Itinerary
- Day 1
Ho Chi Minh City to Cu Chi to My Tho
Your hotel pickup happens at 7:00 AM, then you'll travel by bus for about 1.5 hours to reach Cu Chi. Once there, you'll watch an introductory video about the tunnel system before walking through the remaining tunnel areas. Inside, you'll see living quarters, weapons factories, field hospitals, and command centers, plus the hidden trap doors and dangerous traps that were used during the war. After the tunnels, you get to try special tea and cassava, which was what guerrillas ate during wartime. Lunch comes next at a local restaurant. From there, you head to My Tho for a boat trip on the Tien River where you'll pass by four islands: Dragon, Unicorn, Phoenix, and Tortoise. The afternoon includes a sampan ride through small canals, a short bike ride around the village, and a stop at a coconut candy workshop where you can sample seasonal fruits and honey tea. Local performers will play Southern Vietnamese folk music for you before you head back to Ho Chi Minh City, arriving around 7:00 PM.
