Amsterdam
You'll arrive in Amsterdam and have the day to yourself to settle in and get oriented. By evening, your Travel Director brings everyone together for a canal cruise through the tree-lined waterways and into the Old City, then dinner follows at a local restaurant.

Amsterdam - Würzburg
You'll cross into Germany and head to Boppard in the Rhine Valley, where you board a river cruise toward Sankt Goar. The route takes you past hillside castles and vineyards with views of the Lorelei Rock. After a wine tasting on board, explore the cobbled streets of Würzburg's Old Town and walk past the 16th-century Alte Mainbrücke with its stone saints lining the sides.

Würzburg - Prague
The route goes to Rothenburg ob der Tauber, a well-preserved medieval town on the Romantic Road. - Day 5
Prague
Two activity options let you choose your own path in Prague. Either walk through the Castle courtyards and St. Vitus Cathedral, or join a Local Expert in the Jewish Quarter to learn about Jewish history and traditions while trying Trdelník, a traditional Czech pastry. In the afternoon, visit the Marienburg Fortress, a large baroque palace. The rest of the day and evening are yours, though you can join an optional Czech countryside experience if you'd like.

Cross into Austria and arrive in Salzburg, Mozart's birthplace and the 'Sound of Music' city. Spend the morning shopping for local marzipan if you wish, or take a trip to Kehlsteinhaus (the Eagle's Nest) for high-altitude views of this historic alpine building. Later, drive through the Tauern Mountains and cross into Italy, ending up in Venice where your hotel sits in a quiet, authentic Venetian neighborhood.

Rome
A Local Expert leads a morning walking tour covering Rome's art, ancient sites, piazzas, and palaces. Toss a coin into the Trevi Fountain, see the Pantheon from Roman times, and spend free time in Piazza Navona. In the evening, you get a private visit to the Basilica of Saint Praxedes where the Rector welcomes you. The 9th-century Byzantine mosaics are specially lit for this exclusive experience, and you'll see the historic well and notable chapels.

Rome - Florence
A Local Expert takes you through Vatican State. The Vatican Museums are accessed with fast-track entry to skip the lines and see the Papal art collection. Inside the Sistine Chapel, you'll see Michelangelo's ceiling. Then travel through Umbria and Tuscany to Florence, where another Local Expert shows you the Duomo with its Gates of Paradise and the Baptistery. Walk through Piazza della Signoria, the city's political center with fountains and Renaissance statues.

Head to the Italian Riviera and Cinque Terre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with some of Italy's most beautiful coastal scenery. A Local Expert accompanies you by boat (if weather allows) to one of the fishing villages. Spend time in the old medieval area or at the sandy beach. Later, continue to your resort in Santa Margherita Ligure.
