Itinerary
- Day 1
Yogyakarta
You'll touch down at Yogyakarta airport on Java and meet your tour guide for the drive to your hotel. After settling in, the afternoon and evening are completely yours to use however you like. Many people walk down Jalan Malioboro to check out the shops selling souvenirs and antiques, or you can just kick back by the hotel pool if you're tired from traveling.

Landmarks Jalan Malioboro - Day 2
Yogyakarta
Your guide takes you through Yogyakarta starting with the Kraton, the Sultan's Palace, and then the crumbling Taman Sari moated castle ruins. You'll wander through the old town, stopping at a traditional market, batik factory, and silversmith's workshop to see artisans at work. In the afternoon, drive about 36 km to Prambanan temple complex where carved reliefs show scenes from the Hindu Ramayana story across the temple walls.

Candirejo
Head out to Borobudur, the world's largest Buddhist temple complex, and see the smaller temples Candi Mendut and Candi Pawon nearby. From there, you'll reach Candirejo village surrounded by rainforest and greenery. Pick either a bike tour or carriage ride through the village where you'll watch locals make manioc chips, listen to traditional Javanese gamelan music, and walk past vegetable gardens. Lunch is a traditional Javanese meal served right there in the village before returning to Yogyakarta.

- Day 4
Yogyakarta to Mount Bromo
After an early breakfast, catch a 3-hour train from Yogyakarta to Mojokerto, then grab lunch there. You'll visit Candi Gunung Gangsir, an 11th-century Hindu temple built with red brick, then drive roughly 2.5 hours through volcanic landscapes and plantation areas in eastern Java. By late afternoon, you'll reach Mount Bromo region after covering about 380 km total for the day.

Mount Bromo to Bali
Around 4 a.m., hop into an off-road vehicle heading to Mt. Penanjakan's viewpoint for sunrise. You'll see the volcanic crater's sand sea stretching out with Mount Batok and the active volcanoes Bromo and Nahameru in the distance, creating that iconic postcard view. After returning for a relaxed breakfast, transfer to Surabaya airport for a midday flight to Bali, then drive to your hotel in South Bali, arriving around 7:30 p.m.
