Itinerary
- Day 1
Hotel to Sossusvlei
After hotel pickup at 9 am, you'll head south through Spreetshoogte Pass toward Sossusvlei with a stop at a viewpoint to take in the Namib landscape. Lunch happens at Solitaire oasis before you reach your lodge or campsite around 3 or 4 pm. Temperatures will be extremely hot, so the afternoon is best spent relaxing by the pool. An early night is recommended since tomorrow starts before sunrise.

Sossusvlei
Get up before sunrise and head to Sesriem Gate to explore Sossusvlei. You'll climb Dune 45 for views of the orange landscape, then take an off-road drive to Dead Vlei where you see ancient dried acacia trees in the desert pan. If energy allows, tackle one of Earth's tallest dunes like Big Daddy or Big Mama. Return to Sesriem for lunch and a 1 to 2 hour break during peak heat. Later, take a short late afternoon excursion to Sesriem Canyon before heading back.

Sossusvlei to Swakopmund
Today moves you from desert to coast, crossing the Tropic of Capricorn and driving through mountain passes with changing landscapes. You'll pass through Kuiseb Canyon, descending into the dry riverbed and climbing out as desert scenery transitions. Arriving at the coast, stop in Walvis Bay to spot flamingos and other birds in the lagoons. After a short lunch break, continue to Swakopmund for the night. Dinner is on your own at a local restaurant.

Walvis Bay and Sandwich Harbour
A full day checking out the Walvis Bay and Sandwich Harbour lagoons, home to roughly 200,000 birds including flamingos, pelicans, avocets, and turnstones. You'll drive through the lower Kuiseb Delta with its unique ecosystem and ancient archaeological sites, then learn about the Topnaar community and their use of the !Nara fruit. Light lunch features Walvis Bay oysters and champagne at a scenic spot. Later, visit the roaring dune for sandboarding, pass the salt evaporation ponds, and if visiting Pelican Point, drive along the sand spit between the bay and Atlantic to see shipwrecks and Cape Fur seal colonies. You're back around 4:30 pm.

Swakopmund to Windhoek
After breakfast, head toward Windhoek passing through Karibib, where Namibia's oldest gold mine is located. Stop in Okahandja for lunch and to browse the country's largest craft market. Arrival in Windhoek happens around midday when you'll be dropped at your chosen hotel. Tour services end here.
