Itinerary
- Day 1
Cusco
Arriving in Cusco, you'll check into your hotel and have some coca tea to help your body adjust to the altitude. After settling in and resting a bit, you'll start exploring the historic city center by visiting La Catedral in the Plaza de Armas, then head to the Temple of the Sun (Qoricancha). In the afternoon, you'll see the impressive stone ruins of Sacsayhuaman Fortress, and from there continue to the ancient sites of Qenqo, Puca Pucar, and Tambomachay to learn about Incan history and how these structures were built.

Cusco to Sacred Valley
You'll travel through the Sacred Valley of the Incas starting with the Pisac Market, where you can browse and shop for handmade crafts from local artisans. After spending time at the market, you'll have a buffet lunch in Urubamba to refuel. Then it's on to Ollantaytambo Fortress, an important Incan site featuring massive stone structures over 4 meters tall that served multiple purposes including defense, farming, and religious ceremonies.

Machu Picchu
Head out early to Poroy station and board a train to Aguas Calientes. When you arrive, you'll take a bus up to Machu Picchu and begin your guided tour of this famous site. You'll explore the ancient Inca sanctuary and learn how it functioned as a retreat for Inca Pachacutec. After having lunch, you'll make your way back by train to Cusco, arriving in the evening.
