- Day 2PassauThe ship docks in Passau, where you get to see where three rivers meet and form a unique cultural blend. You can either visit Europe's largest pipe organ or take a hike along the Ilz River if you prefer something more active. - Day 8Budapest to Vienna by TrainYou'll leave the ship and board the Golden Eagle Danube Express train early in the morning. Settle into your cabin and have lunch while the train heads to Vienna. Spend time at the Naschmarkt with its 100-plus food and antique stalls, or visit Schönbrunn Palace if palaces interest you more. Later, there's a private concert from the Vienna Supreme Orchestra to finish the evening. - Meals

You'll cross the Semmering Pass with 16 viaducts and 15 tunnels, pass through Kitzbühel, then drive to Lake Achen for a boat ride. By evening, you'll be in Innsbruck, a city in the Tyrol region known for its alpine location and a mix of imperial and modern buildings. - Meals

- Day 10Innsbruck to ZurichWatch Vorarlberg pass by from your train window as you go through St. Anton, then through Liechtenstein and into Switzerland. The route runs beside Lake Zurich the whole way. Once in Zurich, you'll see the Old Town and waterfront areas that show off the city's medieval past. There's a traditional Swiss fondue tasting to try during your time there. - Meals

- Day 11Zurich to Lake ComoFrom Zurich, the train travels alongside Lakes Zug and Lucerne before climbing toward the St. Gotthard Pass. You'll go through the old St. Gotthard tunnel and descend toward Lake Como in Italy. Lunch happens by the lake at a nice spot, then you'll take a boat around Lake Como and visit Bellagio, a charming town right on the water. - Meals

- Day 14Ljubljana to VeniceEarly morning takes you inside the Postojna Caves before you reboard the train. From there, the train heads south toward Venice. Once you arrive, you'll say goodbye to your train crew and check into the Hotel Monaco & Grand Canal, which sits right on the Grand Canal just steps away from St. Mark's Square. - Meals
