Itinerary
- Day 1
New York to Niagara Falls
Leave New York City in the early morning and drive north through the Delaware Water Gap, which offers some nice scenery along the way. Once you arrive at Watkins Glen State Park, you'll walk through the gorge to see the waterfalls up close. The park has a trail system that takes you past multiple cascades. After that, continue heading toward Niagara Falls for the afternoon. On the American side, you can walk around American Falls, explore Goat Island, and check out Luna Island. The main event is the Maid of the Mist boat tour, which takes you right up to the base of the falls so you get the full experience of the water and mist. Later in the evening, head back to see the falls when they're lit up at night, which gives the whole area a different feel than seeing it during the day.

Toronto - 1000 Islands
Start this morning with views of Horseshoe Falls from the Canadian side. After taking in that view, drive to Niagara-on-the-Lake, a small village with shops and restaurants worth wandering through. From there, it's about an hour to Toronto. In the city, spend time at HTO Park along the waterfront, then head to Brookfield Place to see the Hockey Hall of Fame if that interests you. Check out City Hall and walk through the Distillery Historic District, which has old brick buildings that now hold shops and galleries. Later, as evening comes, start driving east along Lake Ontario toward the 1000 Islands region. You'll arrive sometime after dark.

These castles and mansions really stand out on the water. After the cruise finishes, head back toward New York and stop at an outlet mall for shopping if you want to pick up anything from brand-name stores.
