I am a fit 63 year old, I run and hillwalk regularly: overall, I rate it unequivocally as challenging. The length of the walks indicated in the itinerary (4-6 hrs) was usually an underestimate by 2 hrs. This was not a reflection on the pace of our group – I can’t imagine another group managing a quicker pace. Some of the group would have preferred a slightly slower pace, not primarily because of fitness, but in order to better appreciate the superb landscapes. This was not on offer. 2. One of the walks involves descending 300m on a continual, steep scree. It would have been very difficult without using at least one walking pole – I think this should be made clearer in the trip notes. 3. Participants need to bring a rucksack large enough to carry clothing and other belongings (incl severe bad weather gear) for two successive overnight stays plus enough food for three lunches and 2 litres of water. the price for a single traveller on our TTA Walking Romania - Transylvanian Alps Trek 31 May 2025 is either AUD2300 to share a twin room with another lady - or AUD 2570 for a single room. However we have currently sold our allocation of single rooms - so if you did want a single room we would need to get one requested with our ground agent.

Is it possible to arrive and check in to the Hotel at around 02.00 on Sunday 22nd? I am happy to room share with another lady or pay single supplement.

There is no problem if you have a later flight and miss the welcome meeting on day one. We can still arrange an arrival transfer with your flight details. We do have an early start the next morning though just so you are aware for the drive to the Sinaia so I would be a little concerned this is very tiring for you!

On day 1 you can join at any time so your cruise arriving at midday is fine. There is only the one transfer from the airport to Sinaia and this is at 8.45 from Bucharest airport.
