Anchorage
You'll arrive in Anchorage and get settled at your hotel. After freshening up, you'll take a 15-mile guided trolley tour through historic downtown, stopping at spots like Lake Hood, scenic viewpoints, and Earthquake Park to get a feel for the city's cultural side. The day wraps up with a group dinner to celebrate your arrival.

Anchorage to Homer
This morning you'll drive along Turnagain Arm through Cook Inlet, where you might spot Beluga whales if you're lucky. The route showcases one of the world's largest bore tides and takes about 4.5 hours total. You'll also stop at the Wildlife Conservation Centre, which takes in orphaned and injured animals. Multiple scenic viewpoints break up the drive along the way.

Katmai/Lake Clark National Park - Homer
You'll fly from Homer to either Katmai or Lake Clark National Park (weather dependent) for a chance to see grizzly bears in their natural setting. The hike covers about 4-5 miles over 3 hours, crossing braided rivers and meadows. Before heading back to Homer, you'll visit the Alaska Islands and Ocean Visitor Center to learn more about the region.

Homer to Seward
A 30-minute boat takes you to Kachemak Bay State Park for a guided hike through three different environments: the marine zone, coastal forest, and glacial moraine. You'll walk about 1.5 miles through cottonwood and Sitka spruce, then cross alluvial flats with views of Grewingk Glacier's icebergs. After returning by water taxi, you'll drive roughly 4.5 hours to Seward, check in, have an early dinner, and explore Exit Glacier and Kenai Fjords.

Seward to Anchorage
An 8.5-hour nature cruise through Kenai Fjords gives you chances to see puffins, sea otters, humpback whales, sea lions, and cormorants. You'll head to Northwestern Fjord to watch a tidewater glacier calving right into the ocean. By evening, you'll board the Gold Star Dome Train for a scenic ride back to Anchorage.

Anchorage to Talkeetna
Start at Matanuska Glacier for a 2-3 hour ice walk exploring blue and basal ice while picking up some glaciology knowledge. You'll navigate the recessional moraine past moulins and crevasses. After lunch, you'll head north to historic Talkeetna and take a scenic flight (if weather cooperates) to see Denali from about 6 miles away, flying through Ruth Amphitheater and the Great Gorge.

Talkeetna to Denali National Park
You'll cruise the Talkeetna River on the Talkeetna Queen jet boat for 20 miles, enjoying views of Denali and the Alaska Range. A short quarter-mile walk takes you to a Dena'ina Indian encampment and an authentic trapper's cabin with original furnishings where you'll learn about early 1900s trapper life. Later, explore the Denali National Park Visitors Center and the town with some shorter hikes available. An included group dinner finishes the evening.

Denali National Park
You'll head into the tundra on a wilderness tour through Denali National Park. The drive along the scenic road corridor offers chances to spot grizzly and black bears, wolves, and caribou on their own schedule. During peak summer, the tour extends to Stony Hill Overlook for Alaska Range views and potentially Denali itself. You'll return to Denali Park village by afternoon.
