Itinerary
- Day 1
San José del Cabo
You'll land at San José del Cabo airport where your guide will meet you. From there, it's about a 20 km drive to the Hyatt Place Los Cabos. After you check in, take some time to rest and settle in before everyone gathers tomorrow morning.
- Day 2
Todos Santos - La Paz
The group meets at 8 am for a city tour covering San José del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas. Then you'll head inland to Todos Santos, a colonial town with galleries and craft shops. After that, drive to La Paz, a laid-back coastal city on the water. Stroll the Malecón promenade and check out the plaza with its distinctive pink-towered cathedral before heading to your hotel.

Espíritu Santo Island
You'll board a boat at the La Paz marina for about a 90-minute cruise to Espíritu Santo, an uninhabited volcanic island. The landscape here offers nice bays and unique plants. A short hike takes you across the island with views looking out toward Isla Partida. Then it's back to La Paz by boat.

López Mateos/Puerto Chale - Loreto
An early morning trip takes you to López Mateos or Puerto Chale for gray whale watching if you're traveling between mid-January and end of March. From there, drive on to Loreto and check into your hotel for the next two nights.

Loreto
Spend time in Loreto exploring the historic mission and museum to learn about when it was the religious and political center of Spanish California. Later, drive through the Sierra de la Giganta mountains to Mission San Javier, built in 1699. The mountain road itself is quite something, and the mission still functions as a working church for locals.

Bahía Concepción - Three Virgins - San Ignacio
Drive along Bahía Concepción, a marine reserve with deep blue water, white sand beaches, and tall Cardón cacti. Take a boat to Playa Santispac, then continue through volcanic terrain at the base of Three Virgins peaks where you'll hike through lava landscape. Finish in San Ignacio, a 1728 mission town with a church and museum focused on rock art.

Laguna San Ignacio
Head to Laguna San Ignacio where you'll switch to nimble panga boats for close-up gray whale watching in their natural habitat during the season (mid-January through end of March). This encounter can get wet, but it's direct contact with the whales. Afterward, visit a local oyster farm to try fresh oysters before returning.

Ojo de Liebre - Guerrero Negro
Start with a boat trip on Ojo de Liebre lagoon for gray whale watching if you're visiting between mid-January and end of March. Tour the salt extraction plant at Guerrero Negro and wander through the striking white salt basins. Hike through savannah dunes to reach a bird sanctuary where you'll see migratory birds like hornbill pelicans and ospreys. Arrive at your hotel in Guerrero Negro by evening.

Santa Rosalía - Mulegé - Loreto
Drive to Santa Rosalía, a 19th-century French mining town with colonial villas, the Mining History Museum, the French Hotel, and an iron church designed by Gustave Eiffel. Continue to the Mulege oasis in the Santa Rosalía River valley, which grows fruit and crops year-round. Check out the viewpoint behind the mission church for views of thousands of date palms. End the day in Loreto.
