- Day 1
Johannesburg to Makalali Private Game Reserve
Your driver picks you up from your Johannesburg hotel early morning, and you'll drive through historic towns and mountain passes toward Makalali Private Game Reserve. The journey takes you through some scenic terrain before you arrive and settle in. By afternoon, head out on your first game drive in an open safari vehicle to look for wildlife. Back at the lodge by evening, you'll have dinner in a relaxed setting with other guests.

Makalali to Hazyview
Start early with either a game drive or guided bush walk, then grab breakfast at the lodge. After that, drive toward Hazyview along the scenic Panorama Route, making stops at several viewpoints including Blyde River Canyon, Three Rondavels, and Bourke's Luck Potholes. You'll also visit God's Window if weather allows. The drive gives you time to take in the landscape and snap photos at each stop. You'll pull into your Hazyview hotel in the late afternoon.

- Day 3
Hazyview to Ezulwini Valley
After early breakfast, climb into a closed vehicle for a full game drive through Kruger National Park. You'll exit at Malelane Gate where there's a lunch break (you'll want to arrange food here as it's not provided). From there, cross into Eswatini at Jeppes Reef and drive to your lodge in Ezulwini Valley. Dinner happens at the lodge restaurant in a setting surrounded by nature.

Ezulwini Valley to St. Lucia
Your day starts early with breakfast, then you'll visit a candle factory and check out an arts and crafts market. Lunch happens somewhere along the route but isn't included, so plan accordingly. You'll cross back into South Africa at Lavumisa and drive through KwaZulu-Natal toward St. Lucia, known locally as the 'Elephant Coast' for its wildlife. By late afternoon, you'll reach your hotel near the coast.

St. Lucia to Durban
Start your morning with a game drive in an open safari vehicle followed by a short walk through the forest in iSimangaliso Wetland Park. Head back for breakfast at the hotel, then take a boat trip on the St. Lucia estuary where you might see hippos, crocodiles, and various birds. Lunch overlooks the lake but isn't included. After eating, you'll drive along the coastal road toward Durban, arriving at your hotel around 6 pm.
