Cape Town to Hermanus
You'll arrive at Cape Town Airport by 3 pm where a Go Vacation representative will meet you for a welcome briefing. After picking up your rental car, you'll drive roughly 100 km northeast to Hermanus. Check in at Misty Waves Boutique Hotel for your first two nights in this coastal town known for whale watching.

Hermanus
Spend the day walking through Hermanus along Walker Bay. If you're visiting during whale season (July to November), listen for the kelp horn calls that announce humpback and Southern right whales moving through the area. You can relax on the beaches or hike the Cliff Path for coastal views.

Hermanus to Knysna

Knysna

Drive about 95 km to Tsitsikamma National Park, where dense forests hold trees over 800 years old and cliffs drop down to the coast. Nature Valley has untouched sandy beaches nearby. You can hike various trails or take a canopy treetop tour for a different perspective. Stay one night at Tsitsikamma Village Inn near Storms River.

You'll arrive by early afternoon (no later than 2 pm) and head out on your first game drive in an open safari vehicle. Check in at Kariega Main Lodge for two nights.

Kariega Game Reserve

Kariega to Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth)
Head out on an early morning game drive and have breakfast after. Then drive about 80 km to Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) Airport. Drop off your rental car and end your South African road trip.
