Customer Reviews
- Isobel· April 1st, 2025I had a truly amazing time on the Australia Trip & it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The route was perfect, and we visited so many places in a limited amount of time, which allowed us to see a lot. There are a varied amount of activities planned, which caters to lots of different interests, while also encouraging people to push out of their comfort zones. We ticked off a lot of the “Australia bucket list” stops. One of my favourite parts of the tour were honestly all of us girls socialising, singing & chatting while on the public transport. Byron Bay was amazing - especially the sea kayaking and Piano Bar. K’Gari Island was a fantastic experience - the tour company used for this trip is a really good choice. A big shoutout to our tour leader, Jase! Staying at the National Park in Noosa was a phenomenal experience, with the kangaroos all around us and the forest walks close by. I do wish we had been able to stay in the main part of Noosa for a night or two as well, but I understand there were limited time restrictions on the trip with it being only 15 days. This is merely a personal preference, but given how short the trip is, I would have rather skipped the Surf Camp and had extra days in Byron, Sydney, or Noosa. I think to fully get enough out of the Surf Camp, the trip would need to be extended by a few more days. We only had time for 1 guided lesson, with an optional expression session in the afternoon. I didn’t feel that 1 taught surf lesson was enough to get the most out of surfing. With only 15 days, I would’ve preferred to spend more of my time and money in other places that we visited. I also think that the time spent travelling could have been done differently. Sometimes it felt like we were filling time by travelling. Again, this is my personal preference, but I would’ve preferred the 9 hour train journey to Surf Camp to be overnight, so we didn’t “lose” a whole day to travelling. Another example is the transport to the airport in Brisbane - it took us over an hour to get to the airport when one of the other girls took a 15 minute taxi. At times, it did feel a bit like we had spent a lot of money on the tour and more personal travel could have been included (in this case, a private mini bus). I understand that Tru Travels works to be more environmentally friendly, using public transport options when possible, but with a group of 20 of us, it would have still been environmental friendly to hire a bigger vehicle. One detail I would like to bring to light is Brontë King’s advertisement of the trip is different to what we experienced. Having done the trip, it is clear from her Instagram Highlights and Posts & TikToks that she didn’t stay in all of the same accommodation that we did. I do think this is wrong and is false advertisement. I think some of the girls expected different accommodation based on what Brontë had posted. I know this isn’t necessary a Tru Travels problem, but as you are associated with Gals Who, I think you should be made aware of this. I’ll go into more detail on this below, but Maddy truly made this trip the experience that it was and I cannot recommend it thank her enough for giving me memories that will last a lifetime. Overall, this trip is great for seeing and experiencing a lot in a short period of time. It’s brilliant for anyone wanting to dip their toes in to travelling. It has certainly given me knowledge and confidence to do proper solo travelling, and is great for anyone feeling nervous or apprehensive about doing that. You make friends for life.Show moreReview collected by TruTravels
