Itinerary
- Day 1
Jakarta
You'll arrive in Jakarta and head to your hotel to settle in. The rest of the day is open for you to explore on your own terms. Walk through the city and you'll see the mix of modern high-rises next to older neighborhoods, or head down to Sunda Kelapa harbor if you want to check out the historic port area. Chinatown is another option if you're interested in wandering through the shops and street food.

Landmarks Sunda Kelapa - Day 2
Jakarta to Bandung
Start early and travel toward Bandung with a couple stops along the way. First you'll visit the Bogor Botanical Garden, which is one of the largest in Southeast Asia and has over 15,000 different trees and plants throughout the grounds. After that, head to an Angklung music school where you can see traditional Indonesian bamboo instruments and how they're used. You'll arrive in Bandung, known as the 'Paris of Java', by evening.

Bandung to Borobudur
Early in the morning you'll transfer to Bandung train station and board the Argowilis Executive train for a 6-hour journey to Yogyakarta. During the trip you can watch the Central Java landscape pass by as the train moves through different terrain and hills. By evening you'll arrive near Borobudur and check into your hotel for the night.

- Day 4
Borobudur and Yogyakarta
Today focuses on Borobudur temple complex, one of the world's largest Buddhist monuments with nine levels and over 2,500 carved stone panels showing scenes from Buddha's life. From there you'll see the nearby temples Candi Mendut and Candi Pawon, then take an off-road drive through the countryside visiting local workshops where you can see how people make coconut sugar, pottery, and batik. Later in the afternoon you'll head to Yogyakarta, one of Indonesia's last sultanates, and settle in.

- Day 5
Yogyakarta to Solo
Start the morning with a city tour of Yogyakarta including the Sultan's Palace, the ruins of Taman Sari castle with its moat, and the old town market. You'll also visit a batik factory and a silversmith workshop to see artisans at work. In the afternoon, head to Prambanan temple complex, the largest Hindu sanctuary in Indonesia with its distinctive pointed towers and over 250 individual temples. Later you'll travel about 1.5 hours to Solo for a 2-night stay.

Solo
Start exploring Solo with the Mangkunegaran Prince's Palace and Tri Windu antiques market. After that, drive about an hour up a mountain road to reach Ceto Temple from the 15th century, which offers panoramic views from its location. You'll also stop at a historic Dutch colonial tea plantation to learn about traditional tea growing while looking out over the misty green hillsides. Before heading back to Solo for the evening, visit Sukuh Temple with its unusual Mayan-style architectural details.

Solo to Mount Bromo
After breakfast you'll head to Solo train station and take a train to Jombang, which takes about 3 hours. From there continue by bus to Mojokerto and stop for lunch at a local restaurant. Next you'll see Candi Gunung Gangsir, an 11th-century Hindu temple made from red brick that doesn't get many visitors. The route then passes through volcanic areas and farmland before you reach Mount Bromo in the late afternoon and settle into hillside accommodation with views of the volcano.

- Day 8
Mount Bromo to Denpasar
You'll wake around 2 a.m. and head out in an off-road vehicle to see the Mount Bromo sunrise from a plateau across the way. After sunrise, take another off-road drive through the sandy area around the volcanic mountains before coming back for breakfast. Later you'll drive about 2 hours to Surabaya and then fly 1 hour to Denpasar in Bali, landing at 5:40 p.m. The tour finishes at Denpasar Airport.
