Los Angeles
You have the full day to explore Los Angeles at your own pace. Check out Universal Studios if you want the theme park experience, or head to Beverly Hills to walk around. Santa Monica's beaches and pier are worth seeing, and you can catch Hollywood's Walk of Fame in the afternoon. Downtown LA has some great skyscrapers and galleries if you're into that kind of thing.

Los Angeles to San Diego

San Diego to Palm Springs
Start your morning by visiting the USS Midway aircraft carrier or taking a walk along Coronado's beaches. After that, drive about 205 km east to Palm Springs. Walk around Palm Canyon Drive and browse the shops, grab lunch at one of the cafes, or just wander through the restaurants. Stay one night here.

Palm Springs to Scottsdale
Leave Palm Springs and head into the desert to see Joshua Tree National Park. The park's distinctive Joshua trees and unusual rock formations are scattered across the landscape, so you'll spend time walking around and taking in the terrain. After exploring, continue driving southeast to Scottsdale for the night. The drive covers roughly 530 km, so plan for several hours on the road and maybe break it up with a lunch stop along the way.

Scottsdale - Sedona - Grand Canyon

Grand Canyon
Spend your day at the Grand Canyon. Walk along the South Rim trail to take in the views of steep canyons, colorful cliffs, and deep gorges. Monument Valley to Kayenta
Head to Monument Valley to see those iconic towering mesas rising up to 300 meters above the Colorado Plateau. This landscape shows up in tons of western films, and once you see it, you understand why. The massive stone formations stretch across the desert, and it's the kind of place that looks unreal. Drive around 340 km to Kayenta where you'll stay the night.

Lake Powell - Antelope Canyon - Horseshoe Bend to Page
Travel to Lake Powell, a large reservoir surrounded by red sandstone cliffs created by the Colorado River dam back in 1963. Check out Antelope Canyon with its famous slot canyons, Upper and Lower, which hold significance for Navajo tribes. Don't skip Horseshoe Bend either, it's a popular spot for photos with dramatic canyon views. You'll cover about 170 km and sleep in Page.

Highway 89 - Red Canyon - Bryce Canyon
Drive northwest on Highway 89, also called the Mount Carmel Scenic Byway, through wooded valleys and mountain ranges with red rock views. Stop at Red Canyon near Kanab for a short walk and stretch your legs. Then head to Bryce Canyon National Park where the landscape feels like something out of a fantasy with colorful sandstone and strange shapes everywhere. The drive from your starting point is around 260 km, and you'll stay overnight in the park area.

Zion National Park to Las Vegas
Get an early start at Zion National Park to hike some of the trails, like the one to Emerald Pools, and see the rugged rock faces and fossilized dunes.
