Lima
You'll arrive at Lima airport where someone will meet you and take you to your hotel in Miraflores. It's a straightforward transfer to get you settled in for your first two nights. The rest of the day is yours to rest up after traveling.

Lima
Start the morning with a city tour that takes in Plaza de Armas and the San Francisco Monastery, where you can walk through the catacombs underground. The Larco Museum comes next, which has an extensive collection of pre-Columbian art that gives you real context for what you'll see later in the trip. Your afternoon opens up so you can rest or pursue optional evening activities if you're interested.

Lima to Sacred Valley (Yucay)
Head out early for a flight to Cuzco, then continue on to the Sacred Valley. You'll stop in Chinchero to see the colonial church and what remains of an Inca palace, then check out the colorful local market. Before reaching your hotel for the next two nights, there's a stop at El Mirador de Racchi viewpoint to take in the landscape.

Sacred Valley (Yucay)
This morning you're at Ollantaytambo ruins, one of the most important Inca sites where you'll walk through the temple district and learn how the Incas planned their cities. Later, you'll visit a local family's home to get a sense of how people live in the region. Lunch happens at a typical local restaurant, after which the afternoon is free for optional activities.

Sacred Valley to Cuzco via Machu Picchu
Take the train to Aguas Calientes and then a bus up to Machu Picchu. A guided tour walks you through the ruins and explains the history and significance of this famous Inca site. You'll return by train to Ollantaytambo and then by bus to Cuzco for a three-night stay.

Cuzco
A half-day city tour takes you through San Pedro market and Plaza de Armas with its cathedral, then through colonial alleyways. The Coricancha Temple shows off the ancient Inca sun temple architecture that's still visible. After that, wander through San Blas district with its cobbled streets and craft stores, including Siete Borreguitos street, and grab views from the viewpoint. The afternoon is free so you can do optional activities.

Cuzco
This day is yours to use as you want. Optional excursions are available if you're interested, like exploring less-visited parts of Cuzco, checking out the old cemetery, or doing a full-day trip to Rainbow Mountain. There's also an evening tour called 'Cuzco after dark' if you want to see the city at night.

Cuzco to Puno
You'll spend the full day on a bus traveling through the Peruvian highlands from Cuzco to Puno. The route goes over passes that reach 4,300 meters/14,100 feet with views across the high plateau landscape. Stop by the town of Andahuaylillas, the Racchi ruins, and Pucara before you arrive in Puno on Lake Titicaca for a two-night stay.

Lake Titicaca (Uros Islands and Taquile Island)
Start with a boat trip out to the Uros floating reed islands where the Uros people still live in their traditional way and sell handicrafts. Then head to Taquile Island to see the colorful traditional clothing and the fine knitwear that local artisans are known for, plus the ancient agricultural terraces carved into the hillside. A traditional lunch happens on the island before you return to Puno.

Puno to Lima
