Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival in Kuusamo
Your flight lands in Kuusamo, where a transfer picks you up and drives you about 1.5 hours to Salla Wilderness Park. Once you arrive, you'll check into your Panorama Cabin and take time to settle in. The cabin offers panoramic views and has a private sauna, so you can relax after your journey and get acclimated to the area.

- Day 2
Salla
Today you're heading out on a dog sled safari through snow-covered Lapland for roughly 4 hours. Your guide and musher will walk you through meeting the huskies and explain how to handle a team. You and a partner will take turns driving the sled, so you'll both get hands-on experience with the dogs. Along the route, you'll stop at a campfire where the group grills Finnish sausages and has hot drinks to warm up.

- Day 3
Salla
This day is unscheduled, which means you can do as much or as little as you want. If you're interested, there's an optional guided cross-country skiing tour available where you can glide through the snow on your own. By evening, you'll head out on a guided snowshoe hike through the forest, about 3 hours total, to search for the Northern Lights. The forest is lit by stars and moonlight reflecting off the snow, creating quite a landscape to walk through.

Landmarks Salla Wilderness Park - Day 4
Salla
After breakfast, you're driving a reindeer sleigh through the wintry forest for approximately 3 hours. Your guide teaches you how to manage the animals and control the sleigh before you take out your own team. During the outing, you'll feed the reindeer and get chances to take photos. Later, you'll warm up inside a traditional Lappish hut, or kota, with snacks and hot drinks.

Landmarks Salla Wilderness Park - Day 5
Salla to Ruka
Following breakfast, you'll transfer to Ruka, which is about 1 hour away. There you check into Magical Pond Igloos, your second place to stay. You'll settle into an igloo with panoramic windows so you can see out into the surrounding forest. Take some time to get comfortable in your new accommodations and explore the area around the property.

- Day 6
Ruka
You've got a free day to do what you want. The hotel lets you borrow snowshoes at no extra cost, so you can hike through the untouched nature around the property. In the evening, a snowmobile safari heads out for about 3 hours across forests and frozen ice to look for the Northern Lights. You'll share a snowmobile with a partner and switch off driving. After the ride, everyone gathers at a Lappish tent to warm up by the fire while watching the sky.

- Day 7
Ruka
Start your morning without a schedule and take advantage of the hotel's private sauna for some relaxation. By evening, you're picked up for a journey to the Northern Lights hunting spot, which takes about 3 hours by snowmobile-pulled sledge. You'll ride comfortably and stop at a Lappish tent along the way to warm up and rest. The group then searches for the Aurora Borealis under clear skies, far from any city lights. The ride back through the darkness is its own kind of experience.

Departure from Ruka
Have breakfast at your accommodation, then prepare for checkout. A transfer drives you to Kuusamo airport, which is about 30 minutes away, so you can catch your flight home.
