Cihat· February 6th, 2024The trip itself was alright (though not amazing, quite a few hiccups. The tour guide was great thou), but this review is about scammy practices of Contiki the company, and their poor customer service. They lie about what's included in a trip and overcharge I did Cape, Falls, Safari trip with Contiki in December 2023. There were several instances of Contiki suggesting that an activity is included to the price yet they charged it extra in the trip. The PDFs they send before the trip (and the info they show before they sell) make it sound like a lot more is included than it is. When I confronted them about this, they refused to take accountability. Overall, scammy company. You'll end up paying A LOT more than the base price, unless what you wanna do is literally stay in the hotel the whole trip. Also, they take *28* days to reply to your messages, which is insane. So disappointing! Never booking with them again, and will keep telling to everyone.Show more

Asked on August 31st, 2024I am interested in this tour, but I am 65 and my son is 17. We are both in excellent shape. Are we barred from going as it states it is for people 18 to 35.
ContikiOperator•Written September 2024Contiki trips are specially designed for young adults, aged 18 to 35, to ensure a vibrant and energetic group experience. Since you're looking for a fun adventure with your son, I'd be happy to suggest some other great tours that are perfect for a wider age range and will offer an incredible experience for both of you.

Traveler•Written September 2024All the tours you have set out are extremely expensive. The Cape, Safari and Falls (11 Days, Intra Tour Tax Cape Town To Johannesburg is about $2500 and fits into my budget. i would suggest that chronological age has little to do one's vibrancy or energy. This group is missing out without my son's and my vibrant, energetic presence.
ContikiOperator•Written September 2024Contiki tours have an age restriction, requiring guests to be between 18-35 years old to participate. As you are outside this age range, you would not be eligible to join the trip. However, we have several sister brands that offer fantastic travel experiences without age restrictions, which may be a perfect fit for you: Trafalgar, Costsaver, Insight Vacations, Brendan Vacations, Luxury Gold.
