Entebbe
Your guide greets you when you land in Entebbe, then it's a transfer to your hotel for the night. This gives you a chance to settle in after your journey and get ready for the adventure ahead.
- Day 2
Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park
Early start from Kampala heading northwest 311 km to Murchison Falls National Park. The drive takes you through lowland rainforest and the Great Rift Valley, and you'll stop at the famous Murchison Falls where the Nile drops 6 meters over rapids. After that, you're staying near the Nile where you'll hear the sounds of hyenas, lions, and hippos through the night.

Murchison Falls National Park
Start with an early morning game drive through the national park looking for elephants, giraffes, lions, leopards, buffaloes, warthogs and baboons. In the afternoon, a boat trip takes you upriver where you'll see crocodiles, hippos, elephants, buffalo and other Nile animals from a safe distance.

Murchison Falls to Kibale National Park
The drive south takes you through beautiful landscapes and the crater lake region below the roughly 5000m Rwenzori Mountains. You'll pass through populated areas and learn about Ugandan culture and daily life along the way, then reach the eastern edge of the Kibale rainforest where you'll stay for the night.

Chimpanzee Trekking
Put on your hiking boots for a bush tour through the jungle to track chimpanzees. You'll watch them swing from tree to tree and see 12 primate species including colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys, and baboons, plus rare birds like the giant turaco. The afternoon is yours to choose optional activities in the rainforest or Bigodi Marsh.

Kibale to Queen Elizabeth National Park
The 157 km drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park takes around 4 hours through varied terrain. Once there, the afternoon gives you time for a game drive or an optional guided hike on the Mweya Peninsula if you'd prefer to stretch your legs.

Queen Elizabeth National Park
An early morning game drive gives you the best chance to spot lions, hippos, buffaloes, leopards, spotted hyenas, elephants, antelopes and giant wild boars. In the afternoon, a boat trip on the Kazinga Canal between Lakes Edward and George shows off a high concentration of hippos and more than 550 bird species.

Queen Elizabeth National Park to Ishasha
Morning starts with a game drive and the option to hike Kyambura Gorge looking for chimpanzees. After that, you continue through the park heading 97 km southeast to Ishasha (about 3 hours), known for its tree-climbing lions. An afternoon game drive finishes off the day in this unique area.

Ishasha to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Begin with a final game drive before leaving the national park. Then it's a 63 km drive southwest (roughly 2 hours) where you'll start seeing misty mountains and landscapes of the gorilla region. You'll overnight at a lodge on the edge of gorilla territory, with the location depending on which gorilla family you're assigned to visit.

Gorilla Trekking
At sunrise, you head into the green, misty mountains to see the world's rarest primate species. With about 300 mountain gorillas living in Bwindi, your chances of spotting them are nearly certain. After an hour with the gorillas, you return to your lodge, with the specific location based on your assigned gorilla group.

Bwindi to Lake Mutanda or Lake Bunyonyi
Depending on your gorilla permits, you have two paths: either drive 63 km to Lake Mutanda in the Rwanda-Congo-Uganda border area where three Congolese volcanoes are visible on clear days, or head to Lake Bunyonyi, called the Switzerland of Uganda. At your chosen lake, you pick one activity from a Batwa Pygmy village visit, lakeside hike, or boat trip.

Mgahinga National Park to Lake Bunyonyi
You head to Mgahinga National Park, home to two gorilla families and the rare Golden Monkey. Choose to hike for Golden Monkeys and other primates, relax at Lake Mutanda, or climb an extinct volcano that's part of the Virunga Massif. Later, you continue on to Lake Bunyonyi for the night.

Lake Bunyonyi to Lake Mburo National Park
The 142 km drive to Lake Mburo National Park takes about 3 hours. This park is the best place to see eland along with zebras, topi, impala and various birds. With no lions or elephants here, ranger-accompanied hikes are a safe option if you want one. The five lakes hold hippos, crocodiles and water birds, and the afternoon offers an optional game drive or hike.

Lake Mburo to Kampala
Finish your wildlife experience with a game drive or hike through the park. Then it's a 320 km drive back to Kampala (about 5 hours) with a stopover at the equator. This is where your Uganda group tour comes to an end.
