Itinerary
- Day 1
Hanoi to Ba Be National Park
Your guide picks you up from your Hanoi hotel around 7:30 AM for the drive to Bac Kan, which takes about 5 hours with lunch along the way. Once you arrive at Ba Be National Park, you'll head to Boc Lom pier where you get a quick kayaking lesson before paddling down the Nang River. The route takes you past dramatic cat ear cliffs and into Puong cave, navigating some steep terrain as you go. After exploring the cave, a motorboat brings you back to Ba Be Lake for a swim to cool off. By evening you'll be at Mr Linh's Ba Be Jungle Lake house where dinner is a BBQ.

- Day 2
Tham Phay Cave Exploration
Pickup from your homestay happens between 7:00 and 7:30 AM, then a 30 minute drive gets you to Tham Phay Cave. The hike begins steeply through forest before the terrain opens up into a valley with challenging rock features. You'll enter the cave system and spend about 5 hours total exploring this 5km deep river cave with two underground river tributaries, narrow passages, deep pools, and striking calcite formations. Helmets and headlights are provided for the exploration. After checking out both sections of the cave with its ancient stalagmites and sinkholes, you make your way back to the starting point.

- Day 3
Jungle Hike and Return to Hanoi
Start with breakfast at your homestay at 7:30 AM, then head out on a guided nature walk through Ba Be National Park from Bo Lu village. Your guide shows you local wildlife and flowers as you hike through jungle to Tham Khit cave, then the path continues around the lake to the ranger station's animal observation huts. From there you trek another 2 kilometers to An Ma temple, a sacred Tay temple dedicated to mountain gods and feudal generals. Lunch happens in the park before you're driven back to Hanoi where the tour wraps up.
