Itinerary
- Day 1
Lima
Your private driver meets you at Lima airport and takes you to your hotel. The rest of the evening is yours to use as you like, whether that's exploring the city or settling in after your flight.
- Day 2
Lima to Cusco
After heading to Lima airport, you'll fly to Cusco (flight arranged separately). Your guide picks you up and transfers you to the hotel, then offers coca tea to help your body adjust to the high altitude. You'll have the rest of the day free to rest and acclimate.

Cusco
The morning is yours to rest and get used to the altitude. In the afternoon, your guide takes you through Cusco starting with the Cathedral in the main square and the Temple of the Sun (Qoricancha). From there you'll see Sacsayhuaman fortress, then continue to Qenqo with its tunnels and canals, Puca Pucará storage site, and Tambomachay ritual site before returning to Cusco by evening.

Machu Picchu
Your driver takes you to Poroy station for the train to Aguas Calientes, then you board a bus heading up to Machu Picchu. Your guide walks you through this UNESCO site, explaining its history as a retreat built by Inca Emperor Pachacutec. After lunch, you'll take the train back to Cusco in the afternoon.

Cusco to Manu National Park
You'll leave Cusco early and drive through valleys and small villages heading toward Paucartambo, a colonial town where you'll stop at a museum. A packed lunch keeps you fueled as you continue into the Cloud Forest, a lush area where you might spot Spectacled Bears, Cock of the Rock birds, orchids, and ferns. You'll arrive at Orquídeas de San Pedro Lodge to spend the night.

Manu National Park
Starting before dawn, you'll head out searching for the Cock of the Rock and watching its courtship display. After breakfast, you travel to Pilcopata and then to Atalaya Port on the Alto Madre de Dios River, where you board a boat to Erika private reserve. During the day you explore forest trails in the transitional zone between high and low jungle with your guide pointing out wildlife. Evening brings a short walk searching for insects, snakes, and frogs.

Manu National Park
An early boat ride takes you to Collpa, a clay riverbank where parrots gather to eat minerals and salts. You might see blue-headed parrots, white-eyed parakeets, and Maracana macaws. Back at Erika Lodge after breakfast, you'll visit Machuwasi Lake for a quiet catamaran ride spotting hoatzins, horned screamers, red-capped cardinals, and herons. Later you'll hike to the Ceiba tree, one of the Amazon's largest and oldest species, and walk trails watching for monkeys, capybaras, and snakes.

Manu National Park to Cusco
After breakfast you pack up and boat back to Atalaya Port where your vehicle waits. The drive toward Cusco includes a stop at Pico de Hoz Mirador, a hummingbird garden and conservation center where you can photograph various hummingbirds, toucans, king vultures, monkeys, and possibly a sloth. You'll stop for lunch along the way and reach Cusco in the afternoon.
