Itinerary
- Day 1
Phnom Penh
Your guide and driver will meet you at 8:30 AM in your hotel lobby after breakfast. You'll head to the Killing Fields of Choeung Ek Genocide Center first, where you'll learn about Cambodia's difficult history. After that, the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum provides more context and personal stories from this period. By midday you'll break for traditional Cambodian lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, you'll check out the Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda, then make your way to Wat Phnom, the hilltop temple in the city center. From there you'll visit Wat Ounalom monastery, see the Independence Monument, and stop by the Statue of King Father Norodom Sihanouk. Before heading back to your hotel, you'll have time to browse Central Market, which sits in a historic Art Deco building with lots of local goods and crafts.
