The tour of Ireland with Collette was the first time I'd been to Ireland or used Collette and I was superbly impressed with both. I went with our area Chamber of Commerce who also did an exceptional job. Probably the most memorable experience was kissing the Blarney Stone on St Patrick's day. The history and castles were amazing. I was impressed with the pick of hotels and the choices made to sightsee. Bathrooms were always clean and people welcoming. I'm looking forward to my next trip with Collette.

This trip was a gift to myself for my 70th birthday. It was an amazing trip, and our tour guide Aidan Carrigh, and bus driver, Dave, made the trip so very special! Aidan was so knowledgeable explaining the history of every place we saw. He even sang to us! My favorite place was the Blarney Castle, and kissing the Blarney Stone. The accommodations and food were all top notch. I would recommend that trip for any senior citizen.

Absolutely fantastic tour! Kissing the Blarney Stone on St. Pat's was a highlight, as well as seeing where my ancestors lived. The tour manager and bus driver were top notch, and all of the people we met were so warm and friendly. The only let-down was the 3 day Scotland extension, we had a horrible hotel and Colette booked our arrival flight so late we missed the welcome dinner. There was no one to meet us, and no welcome letter. We felt like we just slipped through the cracks. It wasn't worth the price paid for the extension, but the 12 days in Ireland were amazing and worth every penny!

Does this tour provide luggage handling outside hotel room in with AM/PM drop-off and pick-up?

    • ColletteOperatorWritten November 2024

The overall activity level of this tour is a "level 2." This means you like a balanced approach to travel. Walking two to three miles over the course of a day is no problem for you. You can partake in a two-hour leisurely walking tour, covering up to two miles (with included breaks). You can handle a variety of terrains, from cobblestone streets to moderate hills with relative ease and without assistance. You can climb two flights of stairs with ease. There may be 1 to 2 days on this tour when walking tours can cover 3 to 4 miles over uneven terrain. Expect some full days balanced with free time to recharge or set out on your own adventure. You can handle altitudes up to 6,000 feet. While this level is appropriate for travelers that require mobility assistance devices, there could be times when you may have to sit out on some of the included activities.

    • ColletteOperatorWritten November 2024

Generally speaking, the following features are included with your tour: motor coach transportation, accommodations, hotel luggage handling (porterage), select meals, admission to attractions, and gratuities for bellmen, and door attendants. With this in mind, any hotel that offers the coordinated luggage services in the manner described will advise so at the time of check-in, but that can be counted on as the standard practice. Some hotels may be willing to store your luggage in a secure location until your room is ready.
