Itinerary
- Day 1
Nairobi to Masai Mara
After breakfast in Nairobi, you'll head out and drive through the Great Rift Valley toward Masai Mara. The route takes you past dramatic volcanic terrain and lakes, with a stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint where you can take in the panoramic views. From there, you'll pass through Narok before reaching your lodge around lunchtime. Later in the afternoon, you'll head out on your first game drive to get oriented with the park and spot some wildlife.

Landmarks Great Rift Valley Narok Masai Mara National Reserve - Day 2
Masai Mara
You'll spend the full day doing game drives throughout Masai Mara, focusing on finding the Wildebeest Migration. The main draw here is trying to catch the dramatic Mara River crossing, where thousands of wildebeest push through strong currents while Nile crocodiles wait below. It's unpredictable timing, so your guides will work to position you where the action might happen. If the migration isn't crossing that day, you'll still see plenty of other wildlife moving through the reserve.

Landmarks Mara River Masai Mara National Reserve - Day 3
Masai Mara
Another full day game drive with a packed lunch you'll eat in the field. You'll look for black-maned lions and work toward spotting the Big Five if you haven't already. One thing that stands out here is that the cheetahs tend to be fairly relaxed around vehicles, so you might get closer views than you'd expect. Birdwatchers will find themselves busy too since over 500 bird species live in the reserve, including eagles, hawks, falcons, vultures, storks, bustards, and sunbirds.

Landmarks Masai Mara National Reserve - Day 4
Masai Mara to Nairobi
This morning you'll have breakfast and check out from your lodge, then start the drive back to Nairobi for your onward travel arrangements. The return journey follows the same route through the Great Rift Valley, giving you another chance to see the landscape in daylight as you head toward the capital.
