Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival in Tokyo
You'll land in Tokyo and get picked up at the airport by a private driver. The ride takes you to Hotel New Otani Tokyo Garden Tower where an English-speaking guide meets you to help with anything you need during your stay.


- Day 2
Tokyo
Start at Tsukiji Fish Market early in the morning to see the bustling seafood operations and grab some fresh sushi for breakfast. After that, head over to Odaiba Seaside Park for a walk with nice views of Rainbow Bridge and Tokyo Bay. Then spend a couple hours at teamLab Planets Tokyo checking out the interactive art installations. Finish the evening at Senso-ji Temple, which happens to be Tokyo's oldest Buddhist temple and gets busy with crowds but it's worth seeing.

Tokyo
Take a 3-hour sushi cooking class in Shinjuku where you'll make different rolls like nigiri, inari, and hosomaki. From there, head to Meiji Jingu Shrine near Harajuku Station, which is Tokyo's largest shrine and really peaceful despite being close to the busy station. Later, walk through Shibuya Crossing one of the world's most crowded intersections. End your day at Sunshine City in Ikebukuro where you can shop and visit the Pokemon Center if you're into that.

Lake Kawaguchi and Mount Fuji Area
Drive out to Lake Kawaguchi in the Fuji Five Lakes area. Take the cable car up to Kawaguchiko Tenjozan Park where you get clear views of Mount Fuji on good weather days. Stop at Oshino Hakkai to see the eight spring pools with crystal clear water. Then check out Narusawa Hyoketsu Ice Cave which has been around for over 1150 years. End at Arakurayama Sengen Park where the Mount Fuji views are really nice, especially once it gets dark.

Hakone to Kyoto
Start in Hakone with a boat ride on the Hakone Pirate Ship across Lake Ashino where you'll see Mount Fuji from the water. Take the ropeway up to Owakudani, a volcanic spot with steam and sulfur smells, and try the black eggs they sell there as a snack. Later in the afternoon, board the Shinkansen bullet train heading to Kyoto. You'll arrive and check into your new hotel by evening.

Kyoto
Begin at Higashi Hongan-ji Temple which has impressive Buddhist architecture, particularly the Goei-do hall that's one of the world's largest wooden buildings. Next, go to Sanjusangendo Temple to see the 1001 golden Kannon statues inside the main hall. Grab lunch or snacks at Nishiki Market, Kyoto's famous food district with over 100 shops and restaurants selling local specialties. Wrap up with a traditional kimono fitting and tea ceremony with someone trained in the proper techniques.

- Day 7
Kyoto
Start at Kiyomizu-dera Temple on the hillside for wide views of Kyoto spread out below. Make your way to Kinkaku-ji to see the golden reflection in the lake, which takes about 30 to 40 minutes from the previous temple. Explore Nijo Castle to walk through the palace architecture that survived from Japan's feudal period. Then go back to Nishiki Market to see the backstreets and learn about its 400 years of history as Kyoto's main food and shopping area.

- Day 8
Kyoto to Osaka
Visit Kiyomizu-dera Temple early to catch the views of Kyoto from the hillside location before it gets too crowded. Then head to Kinkaku-ji to see the Golden Pavilion reflected in the pond, which is best visited early or later in the day. After that, walk through Nijo Castle to see how feudal-era palaces were designed and built. Later, take another walk through Nishiki Market to explore the smaller side streets and see some of the 400 year history of the place. In the evening, transfer to Osaka where you'll spend your final night.
