Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Kathmandu to Machhakhola

    You'll start with an 8-hour bus ride from Kathmandu heading toward Machhakhola. The route takes you through scenic hills and river valleys, staying smooth until Aarughat, then the road gets rougher and bumpier through the Manaslu landscape. This journey gets you to the trailhead area, and you'll spend your first night in Machhakhola.

  2. Day 2

    Machhakhola to Jagat

    After breakfast, the trek begins following the Buri Gandaki River through forests and Gurung villages. You'll reach Tatopani where there's a natural hot spring for bathing, then cross a suspension bridge to Doban. The terrain gets rough through a landslip section before you reach Jagat with its stone flag street for the night.

  3. Day 3

    Jagat to Pewa

    Starting early after breakfast, you'll trek through Salleri, Sirdibas, and Phillim toward Pewa. You'll see gompas and prayer flags along the way, and need to show your trekking permits at Pewa. Pine and rhododendron forests cover the trail where the Tsum Valley Trek branches off. Pewa offers a special Dal Bhat meal for dinner before bed.

  4. Day 4

    Pewa to Namrung

    The day starts through bamboo forests and a suspension bridge with steep climbing toward Ghatta Khola River. You'll pass villages with Mani Stones and reach settlements like Rana, Bihi Phedi, and Ghap where the terrain gets slippery from landslides. After climbing through these areas, you reach Prok Village for views of Mt. Siringi Himal, then a zigzag trail leads to Namrung village for your overnight stay.

  5. Day 5

    Sama Gaun Acclimatization

    This day focuses on acclimatization after the altitude gain. You'll hike to Pungyen Gompa on the eastern side of Nubri Valley for views of the Manaslu Himalaya range. If you have energy, Pungyen Gompa or Manaslu Base Camp are reachable within 4 hours. You return to the same tea house in Sama Gaun for another night to let your body adjust.

  6. Day 6

    Sama Gaun to Samdo

    You leave Sama Gaun and climb beyond the tree line, crossing a wooden bridge over the Budhi Gandaki River. The high valley walk offers mountain views and you'll see a large stream crashing on rocky riverbed. Samdo, a small Tibetan-influenced village, becomes your overnight stop at a local tea house.

  7. Day 7

    Namrung to Sama Gaun

    Starting early from Namrung, the trek gradually climbs through rhododendron and pine forests. As you go higher, the landscape shifts to alpine meadows and mountain passes. You'll pass through villages where Gurung and Tibetan communities live, spotting prayer flags and monasteries. By evening you reach Sama Gaun beneath the Manaslu range and stay at a tea house.

  8. Day 8

    Samdo to Dharmasala

    After breakfast and a guide briefing, you trek through icy streams and barren land for roughly 4 hours. Crossing two streams, you'll spot the Larkya Glacier and reach the old Larke Bazaar, a former Tibetan trading village. From there, a steady climb takes you to Dharmasala where you'll sleep.

    Dharmasala to Bimthang via Larkya La Pass

    This challenging day requires good fitness and attention to your guide. You'll trek through valleys and villages with prayer flags, descending to four frozen lakes. Rocky, steep, snow-covered hills lead to Larkya La Pass at 5,160m/16,930ft with views of Himlung Himal, Cheo Himal, Kang Kuru, Annapurna II, and the Larkya La glacier. You cross moraines and descend to meadows, reaching Bimthang for the night.

    Bimthang to Dharani

    A downhill trek through lush green forests and across the Dudh Khola river follows. You'll pass through rhododendron and pine woods, reaching Gurung Goa, the first village since Samdo. The valley becomes more agricultural and fertile. This trail connects with the Annapurna Circuit, offering views of the Marsyandi valley. You finish at Dharani Village and stay at a tea house.

  11. Day 11

    Dharani to Kathmandu

    Your trek ends as you drive from Dharani to Besisahar, covering roughly 200 kilometers. The drive takes several hours, and at Besisahar you'll switch from a jeep to a regular tourist bus. The final drive back to Kathmandu completes the Manaslu Larke Pass Trek successfully.

    • For any tour departing before February 12th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after February 12th, 2026, a minimum payment of 20% is required to confirm your booking with Nepal Holiday Treks And Tours. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
