London
You'll arrive in London and settle into your hotel, then the rest of the day is yours to explore. Stroll through Hyde Park if you want, check out the shops around Knightsbridge, or head down to the Thames to see Tower Bridge and the Tower of London up close. It's a good chance to get your bearings and walk around at whatever pace feels right.

London to Stratford-upon-Avon to York
Meet your travel director and head to Stratford-upon-Avon to see Shakespeare's birthplace, which has lots of interesting items and details about his life. After that, you'll drive to York where you can walk along the old city walls, wander through the Shambles with its crooked historic houses, and see York Minster, a massive medieval cathedral. Later in the evening, join the group for a welcome dinner to meet your fellow travelers.

York to Durham to Edinburgh
You'll stop in Durham to see the impressive castle and its Romanesque cathedral, then view part of Hadrian's Wall, the famous Roman monument that once marked Rome's northern edge in Britain. From there, you cross into Scotland and make your way to Edinburgh, the country's capital city with its elegant Georgian architecture and historic streets.

Edinburgh
Head down the Royal Mile to see the Palace of Holyroodhouse, the official Scottish residence of the King. Your afternoon is free to shop along Princes Street, and depending on your tour departure, you may have the chance to see The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo in the evening.

Edinburgh to St. Andrews to Inverness
You'll cross the Firth of Forth into Fife and travel to St. Andrews, famous for the Old Course golf links and as the birthplace of golf itself. Spend free time exploring the town and maybe walk to West Sands Beach, where the movie Chariots of Fire was filmed. After that, cross the Tay river and head through Blair Atholl past the Grampian Mountains, then down to the Spey Valley and into Inverness for the evening.

Inverness to Loch Lomond to Lake District
Early in the day, travel along Loch Ness and hear some of the local stories about the famous Nessie legend. You'll continue through Glencoe with its dramatic mountain scenery, then reach the banks of Loch Lomond. During the afternoon, take a cruise on the loch with a light lunch while you take in the oak woodlands and views around you. By evening, you'll cross back into England and reach your lakeside hotel.

Liverpool to Conwy to Holyhead to Dublin
You'll drive through Wales and see Conwy Castle, a medieval fortress that's still standing tall after 700 years. Head over to the Isle of Anglesey and catch a glimpse of the village famous for having Europe's longest place name. From the port at Holyhead, you'll set sail across the Irish Sea to Dublin, which takes a few hours by ferry.
