Itinerary
- Day 1
Kilimanjaro International Airport to Moshi/Arusha
You'll land at Kilimanjaro International Airport where your driver-guide meets you. After sorting baggage and doing a quick greeting, you'll head to Moshi or Arusha (about 45 minutes by vehicle). Your guide goes over the climb details and checks your gear, and anything you're short on can be rented right there.

- Day 2
Machame Gate to Machame Camp
Your guide and support crew show up at the hotel for a briefing, then you'll drive to Machame Gate (1,800m) at the park entrance. Once you handle permits and register with search and rescue, the actual trekking starts. You'll cover 5km over 5-6 hours to reach Machame Camp at 3,010m.

- Day 3
Machame Camp to Shira Camp
After breakfast, you'll trek 5km up to Shira Camp (3,845m) in 4-5 hours, leaving the rainforest behind and getting your first real views of Shira Plateau. You'll have lunch and rest at camp, then do a short acclimatization hike toward Lava Tower (gaining about 300m) before heading back for dinner.

Shira Camp to Lava Tower to Barranco Camp
The trek from Shira Camp covers 11km and takes 6-8 hours to reach Lava Tower at 4,630m. This spot matters for acclimatization, so you'll spend 1-2 hours here for lunch and adjustment. Then you'll descend to Barranco Camp (3,960m) where you'll see the Barranco Wall, which looks intimidating but has a straightforward hiking route for tomorrow.

Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp
Start early to skip the crowds tackling Barranco Wall. It only takes about an hour despite looking rough, and you'll get good photos of Kibo Peak. From there the day has ups and downs as your guides choose. You'll grab lunch at Karanga Camp, then do another acclimatization climb toward Barafu (4,270m) before returning to Karanga for the night.

Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp
After breakfast, trek 6km to Barafu Summit Camp (4,640m) in 4-5 hours. Your crew will have everything set up ahead of time so you can rest and recover strength. You'll do an acclimatization hike toward Kosovo Summit Camp (4,800m) and return, then have dinner and try to sleep before the night summit attempt.

- Day 7
Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Millennium Camp
You'll leave Barafu Camp after dark and climb Kilimanjaro to Uhuru Peak (5,895m). Each pair gets a personal guide watching how you're doing physically and mentally during the 8-12 hour push. At the top, you can head down to the nearest glacier if you want, rest 2 hours at Barafu, then descend to Millennium Camp (3,820m).

- Day 8
Millennium Camp to Mweka Gate
You'll wake up in the tropical rainforest, feeling the relief of lower altitude and pride from hitting the summit. Following breakfast, trek 12km down to Mweka Gate (1,640m) in 4-5 hours. The group gets together to celebrate, sign the guestbook, and collect commemorative certificates before driving back to the hotel.

Moshi to Kilimanjaro International Airport
Have breakfast at the hotel, then take an optional short walk around Moshi town if you're interested. From there, you'll transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward flight. That's it.
