You'll arrive in Budapest and head to your welcome meeting at 6 pm to meet your group leader and fellow travellers. After that, the evening is yours to explore at your own pace. Some people grab dinner together, take a nighttime walk along the Danube to see the illuminated buildings and bridges, or check out one of Budapest's well-known ruin bars.

Budapest to Belgrade
This morning you'll travel from Budapest to Belgrade with a stop in Novi Sad. Your leader takes you on an orientation walk through Novi Sad, and then you have time to explore on your own. Petrovaradin Fortress sits on a hilltop with great views over the Danube and some good dining options. Later, you'll continue to Belgrade where you can wander the wide boulevards, visit the historic Kalemegdan Park and Fortress, then head to Skadarska Street in the bohemian quarter for authentic local food and nightlife.

From there, the rest of Belgrade is yours to explore at your own pace. Take a Danube cruise, browse Zeleni Venac market, visit museums, relax at Ada Ciganlija beach, or catch live music and cultural events around the city.

Belgrade to Sarajevo
You'll travel through scenic countryside from Belgrade to Sarajevo, which takes a while so bring a book or podcast. Sarajevo blends Eastern and Western influences with minarets, mosques, bazaars and coffee culture throughout. On arrival you have free time to explore, and there's an optional guided tour available to learn about the city's history, culture and the old bazaar called Bascarsija. For dinner, try local bosanski cevapi, which is grilled spiced meat.

Getting lost in Bascarsija bazaar, sampling local burek pastries, visiting art galleries, or trying award-winning local beer at Pivnica HS brewery are all good options.

Sarajevo to Mostar
You'll travel to Mostar with a stop at Tito's Bunker for a 1.5-hour guided tour of this Cold War underground facility. Then you'll continue to Mostar, a striking city built around the Neretva River. The iconic Stari Most, an Ottoman-era stone bridge from 1565, is the main attraction. If you're lucky, you might see local divers jumping into the icy waters below.

Mostar to Kotor
After breakfast, you'll travel to Kotor, Montenegro, a UNESCO World Heritage city from the 5th century set on a secluded bay surrounded by towering peaks. You'll explore Europe's southernmost fjord, Boka Kotorska, and wander through Kotor's atmospheric old town. During your free afternoon, check out the 12th-century Cathedral of St Tryphun, the South Gates, and Armoury Square.

Another free day to explore Kotor's charming crooked alleyways, browse boutiques and cafes. If you're up for it, there's a 1.5-hour hike up stone steps past churches, gates and bastions to the Fortress of Sveti Ivan at the top with magnificent views across the town and bay. In the evening, find a lookout spot to watch the city walls light up at night.

Kotor to Dubrovnik
You'll leave Montenegro and ride along Croatia's beautiful southern coast by bus to Dubrovnik. This medieval city is yours to explore at your own pace, and your leader can give suggestions if needed. There's an optional boat trip to nearby Lokrum Island to see Fort Royal Castle, a monastery, and botanical gardens. End your day with a secluded beach sunset or a harbourside meal with the group.

You have a free day in Dubrovnik with the Adriatic sparkling in the background and a walkable Old Town full of things to see. At 6 pm there's a group meeting to meet new members joining the tour. Afterwards, take a walk around town or enjoy a meal with your travel buddies to get to know the fresh faces.

Dubrovnik
Today you'll take a daytrip to the Elafiti Islands, a small archipelago northwest of Dubrovnik. You'll explore churches along the way, then have free time at the beach to relax, swim, or find a coastal restaurant for lunch. Back in Dubrovnik, the afternoon is free to visit Big Onofrio's Fountain, the Franciscan Monastery with its ancient pharmacy, or relax on Banje Beach before dinner with sunset views.

Zagreb
After breakfast, you'll enjoy an orientation walk with your leader around Zagreb.
