Lesley· May 2nd, 2025I went tthe wrong time of year, the heat and humidity were almost unbearable. The guide Buddy was very organised and everything went seamlessly with no organisational issues. There was a good mix of people, single women and men and some couples. There were lots of activities but not any really must see sights, if I had known earlier I would have taken the opportunity to see the long neck hill tribes from Chaing Mai and hot air ballooning in Vang Vieng, by the time I had all the details of these activites and researched safety, etc it was too late. Intrepid apparently does not encourage those activities. The elephant expereince was amazing and the two days on a boat down the Mekong, the food was very good on the whole, and there was no problem getting vegetarian food.Show more

Asked on January 29th, 2025I am interested in travelling with this Intrepid Tour but I would like to join the tour on the morning of Day 3 in Chaing Mai which will mean that I would miss the first two days in Bangkok and the overnight train. I am happy to join the group when they arrive in Chaing Mai first thing in the morning. Could you pease ask Intrepid if that would be Ok and if they are able to discount me the first two days of the tour?

However, please note that we are unable to offer a discount for the missed days, as tour pricing is based on the full itinerary regardless of when a traveler joins. Regarding accommodation, we can request a shared room for you, but this will depend on availability.
