Itinerary
- Day 1
Lima
You'll arrive in Lima and get settled at your hotel in Miraflores before meeting your tour leader at 2 pm. From there, it's a guided walking tour through the historical centre where you'll see the San Francisco Monastery and check out the catacombs underneath. The central market is next on the route, then you'll wrap up at Lima's main square. After that, the evening is yours to do as you please—dinner with the group is an option if you want company, or you can explore on your own.

Lima to Puerto Maldonado to Amazon Jungle
Head to Lima airport early for your flight to Puerto Maldonado. From there, you'll board a motorised canoe for a 3-hour journey into the jungle to reach your eco-lodge, with a packed lunch during the ride. Once you settle in, take a short orientation walk nearby. Spend the evening relaxing and taking in the jungle atmosphere with all its sounds around you.

- Day 3
Amazon Jungle
This is a full day in the Amazon with local experts guiding you. Start with a half-day jungle walk learning about medicinal plants and local wildlife like macaws, butterflies, peccaries, monkeys, capybaras, giant otters and jabirus. Return to the lodge for lunch and have free time to rest. At sunset, head back out on a night walk to spot creatures that come alive after dark.

- Day 4
Amazon to Cusco
Time to leave the Amazon and head to Cusco. You'll take a 3-hour canoe ride back to Puerto Maldonado to pick up your luggage, then fly to Cusco. Once there, your leader takes you on an orientation walk to help you get familiar with the city layout. The evening is free, and your leader can point you toward good dinner spots in town.

- Day 5
Cusco to Sacred Valley
Start your day at Sacsayhuaman archaeological site, then travel through the Sacred Valley viewing terraced maize crops and the sacred river. You'll visit an authentic Andean community near Pisac to learn how locals make traditional textiles. Lunch stops at AMA Restaurant in Urubamba, which supports single mothers through employment and training. End the day at Ollantaytambo to see its ancient Incan ruins.

Route Departure Day (Inca Trail / Quarry Trail / Train Route)
Choose your route to Machu Picchu. Route 1 takes you by minivan to the 82 km marker to start the Inca Trail with porters, cook and guide, with uphill trekking to a 3,100m campsite and views of Incan sites plus snow-capped Veronica Peak. Route 2 goes to Choquequilla then treks through Socma to Perolniyoc Cascade, ending at 3,700m with Q'orimarca archaeological site. Route 3 visits Chinceros archaeological site before returning to Cusco for free time. Receive a 5kg duffle bag for clothes; porters carry everything else.

- Day 7
Route Trek Day 2 / Route Cusco Free Day
Route 1: Tackle the most challenging day with a steep 5-hour ascent to Dead Woman's Pass at 4,200m and enjoy valley views before descending to Pacaymayo Valley campsite at 3,650m. Route 2: Hike 3 hours to Puccaqasa pass at 4,370m with scenic views, stop for lunch, then spend 2 hours reaching Kuychicassa at 4,450m (highest pass) with views of Intipunku and Nevado Veronica, ending at 3,600m campsite. Route 3: Spend a free day in Cusco exploring museums and archaeological sites; grab a boleto turistico if interested in entering 16 different sites.

- Day 8
Route Trek Day 3 to Aguas Calientes / Route Train to Aguas Calientes
Route 1: Climb through Pacaymayo Valley to Runkuracay Pass at 3,980m with Cordillera Vilcabamba views, descend 2-3 hours to Sayacmarca ruins, cross a third pass to Phuyupatamarca at 3,850m, then spend 2 hours descending Incan steps to your final campsite at Winay Wayna archaeological site. Route 2: Take an all-downhill hike to the incomplete Kachiqata quarry where Incas and Spanish met, finishing by midday. Then explore Ollantaytambo's cobbled streets, take a short train to Aguas Calientes and meet other group members at a comfortable hotel. Route 3: Drive 1.5 hours to Ollantaytambo then take a 1.5-hour train through winding Urubamba Valley to Aguas Calientes in cloud forest; meet other group members and stay in a comfortable hotel.

- Day 9
Machu Picchu
This is your trip's highlight! Route 1: Wake at 4 am for breakfast, say goodbye to your porters, start hiking by 4:30 am. The final checkpoint opens at 5 am, then hike 2.5 hours to Intipunku (Sun Gate) for unforgettable views entering Machu Picchu. Routes 2 and 3: Catch an early bus to Machu Picchu at 5:30 am. Take a guided tour of temples, palaces and living quarters built around 1440 AD as an Incan retreat. All routes: After photos and exploring, bus to Aguas Calientes for lunch, then take a scenic train back to Ollantaytambo before driving to Cusco, arriving in the evening.

- Day 10
Cusco
The morning and early afternoon in Cusco are free, so you can relax at a café in Plaza de Armas or wander around and see what you find. Later this afternoon, head to Casa Intrepid for a hands-on Pisco Sour mixology class where you'll learn how to make Peru's national cocktail from someone who knows the craft. By evening, you have the option to join the group for dinner and get some local restaurant recommendations from your leader, or keep exploring on your own.

Cusco to Puno
You'll spend about 7 hours on a comfortable public bus from Cusco to Puno, with reclining chairs and mountain scenery passing by. Arrive in Puno on Lake Titicaca's shores, where Aymara and Quechuan traditions blend together and folklore thrives. The town is known for traditional dances and colorful festivals, especially around the Virgen de la Candelaria celebration if your timing lines up.

Landmarks Lake Titicaca - Day 12
Uros and Taquile Islands
Sail across Lake Titicaca, the world's highest navigable lake, to the intriguing floating islands of the Uros, built from totora reeds using pre-Incan methods. Visit Taquile Island where men traditionally knit and women spin, so there's good knitwear to buy. Hike uphill for an hour to the main village with beautiful lake views. Optional lunch includes quinoa soup and muna tea (Andean mint). The boat journey back to Puno involves descending 500 steps.

Puno to Lima
Fly back to Lima today, taking about 1-2 hours. Once there, explore the modern Miraflores neighborhood with its restaurants, cafes and shops. Stop at Parque del Amor (Love Park) dedicated to romance, then head to artsy Barranco with colonial-style houses, vibrant street art and murals. Try some of Lima's favorite sweets like Peruvian donuts, mazamorra morada (purple corn porridge), or butifarra sandwiches with Emoliente herbal tea. The evening is free if you want to try ceviche, Peru's national dish of raw fish marinated in lime juice.
