Fort-de-France
Start the day with a city tour of Fort-de-France, the capital. You'll see the Schoelcher Library and walk through the Spice Market to see what's on offer, then check out Saint-Louis Cathedral and its architecture. Later, take a walk along the waterfront promenade and take in the views across the Caribbean Sea.

Les Salines Beach
Spend your time at Les Salines, one of the best beaches on the island. The sand is white and soft, and the water is clear enough for swimming. You can try snorkeling or paddleboarding if you want, and grab lunch at one of the beachfront spots where they serve fresh seafood and tropical drinks.

Balata Botanical Garden
Head to the Balata Botanical Garden in the rainforest area. The gardens have a lot of exotic plants and colorful flowers to see. Walk out on the canopy walkway to get up into the treetops and see across the forest while learning about the plants and wildlife that live there.

Piton Carbet - Cascade Absalon
Take a drive along Route de la Trace, which winds through the rainforest. Stop at a few viewpoints to see Piton Carbet and Cascade Absalon waterfall, and take in the views of the landscape. Bring food for a picnic lunch and eat surrounded by nature along the way.

Mount Pelée

If you're up for it, hike up to the volcano's crater for views of the surrounding area.
