Itinerary
- Day 1
Reykjavik
Your trip kicks off in Reykjavik, where you'll have time to walk around Laugavegur and browse the shops there. The Hallgrímskirkja Church stands out architecturally and is worth seeing, and the Reykjavik Art Museum offers a good look at local and contemporary work. If you've arranged a pre-program, you'll get to see some of Iceland's natural sites before boarding your ship.

- Day 2
Reykjavik to Nuuk
You'll fly out early from Reykjavik headed to Nuuk. Once there, wander the old town by the waterfront and check out Nuuk Cathedral, the Hans Egede statue, and the Mother of the Sea statue. After boarding your expedition ship, you'll get your complimentary jacket, settle into your cabin, and then have dinner on board that evening.

- Day 3
Sailing to Disko Bay
The ship heads north toward the Arctic Circle and you'll attend presentations about AECO rules for Arctic operations, which are required before any landings. Later, explore the ship's facilities and sit in on lectures covering Greenland topics and Citizen Science projects. You'll cross the Arctic Circle during this sailing.

Landmarks Arctic Circle - Day 4
Disko Bay and Ilulissat
Disko Bay comes into view with the Ilulissat Icefjord, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You'll walk along a wooden gangway to see enormous icebergs in white, gray, and blue. The Icefjord Centre has information about ice formations, or you can hike to Sermermiut if you want views of the fjord and surrounding landscape.

- Day 5
Greenland's Far North
You're heading into Greenland's Far North beyond Nuussuaq peninsula where the pace of life slows way down. The region has archaeological sites and a history of Arctic settlement going back 4,000 years. Depending on conditions, you might stop at communities like Uummannaq or Ukkusissat, visit the Qilakitsoq archaeological site, go on nature walks, or take small boats through inner fjords.

Melville Bay
Melville Bay stretches out before you, a large expanse where ice caps reach the sea. The ship sails past 70 degrees north. Spend time on deck watching for wildlife with the Expedition Team, relax inside, and attend lectures on Arctic nature, geology, and mythology. It's a good day to just take in the surroundings and the experience.

Landmarks Melville Bay - Days 7 - 11
Thule Region Exploration
The Thule region, also called Ultima Thule, shows you wild Arctic conditions and some of the harshest environments in Greenland. You'll visit local communities and land by small boat to see the landscape up close. Wildlife here can include walruses, orcas, narwhals, belugas, and occasionally polar bears. Activities shift based on weather and ice.

Landmarks Thule Region - Days 12 - 13
Crossing Baffin Bay
Your ship turns south as the Arctic portion winds down. Relax on board, talk with people you've met in the Expedition Lounge & Bar, catch any lectures you missed, and have leisurely lunches. The hot tubs let you soak while watching icebergs float by. The Expedition Team keeps watch for wildlife and guest lecturers talk about Greenland and Arctic life. Join in the Citizen Science activities too.

Landmarks Baffin Bay - Days 14 - 15
Central West Coast Greenland
Central west Greenland's towns offer contrasts between modern life and ancient history. Sisimiut sits about 25 miles north of the Arctic Circle and has a local museum showing Saqqaq culture artifacts. Pick up souvenirs like qiviut scarves, hats, or mittens (qiviut comes from musk oxen). You might also stop at Qeqertarsuaq on Disko Island or Itilleq, a small fishing village north of the Arctic Circle.

Nuuk to Reykjavik
You're back in Nuuk and it's time to say goodbye to the MS Fridtjof Nansen, her crew, the Expedition Team, and the friends you've made. If time allows, explore modern Greenland before heading to the airport for your flight back to Reykjavik. You'll have plenty of Arctic memories to take home.

Reykjavik
Back in Reykjavik, your adventure wraps up here. If you've booked a post-program, you'll get to see more of Iceland's features. Otherwise, you can spend extra time in the capital visiting shops, trying local food, or checking out the geothermal attractions nearby before flying home.
