Itinerary
- Day 1
Santiago
You'll start in Santiago with time to see the city's colonial buildings and check out the famous Mercado Central market. Head to Plaza de Armas and the Presidential Palace to get a feel for the capital. If you're up for it, Sky Costanera takes you 1,000 feet up for views across the whole city. If you arrive early, there are optional activities available to help you settle in.

- Day 2
Santiago to Punta Arenas
This morning you'll fly south to Punta Arenas, Chile's southernmost port. Once there, you'll board MS Fram and get settled into your cabin. Spend some time walking around the ship to get familiar with it, and you'll meet the Expedition Team who'll be with you for the next three weeks.

Strait of Magellan
You'll cruise through the Strait of Magellan with time to take in the views from the deck or relax in the outdoor hot tub. The Expedition Team holds lectures in the Science Center covering marine biology, Antarctic survival, oceanography, and photography tips. You can also join in on Citizen Science projects while learning about what's coming up on the itinerary.

Falkland Islands
The Falkland Islands are next, with green landscapes and white sand beaches to explore. You'll have chances to hike and watch for birds, heading out to albatross and penguin colonies where seals often hang around. In Stanley, there's a walk through town that takes you to Jubilee Villas gardens, Christ Church Cathedral, and the Historic Dockyard Museum. Weather will determine what actually happens each day.

South Atlantic Crossing
Over two days you'll cruise toward South Georgia while the Expedition Team gives lectures on South Georgia's wildlife, polar history, geology, and glaciology. You'll hear stories about Norwegian whalers and learn how to visit responsibly with low-impact practices. Citizen Science programs let you help with global research.

South Georgia
Four days exploring South Georgia, often called the 'Serengeti of the Southern Ocean', with massive penguin colonies and loads of seabirds like albatrosses, petrels, and shags. Seals are common throughout. You'll visit Grytviken to see where Antarctic explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton is buried. The team adjusts each day's landings and cruising based on wildlife and ice conditions.

Approach to Antarctica
As you head toward Antarctica, there's time to reflect on the journey so far. The Expedition Team reviews IAATO environmental guidelines and sustainability practices for visiting the continent. You'll enjoy the ship's comforts while preparing yourself mentally for Antarctica's unique landscape.

Antarctica
Five days experiencing Antarctica's frozen landscape around the Antarctic Peninsula and South Shetland Islands. You'll see gentoo, chinstrap, and Adelie penguins along with skuas, petrels, and terns. Optional kayaking among icebergs and snowshoeing to viewpoints are available. Onboard lectures focus on this fragile environment and how to protect it.

Return via Drake Passage and Beagle Channel
You'll start heading north through the Drake Passage back toward Punta Arenas. It's a good time to review photos and memories from everything you've seen. Between soaking in hot tubs and relaxing in the panoramic sauna, watch for Patagonian wildlife as you cruise through the scenic Beagle Channel with mountains dropping right into icy waters.

Punta Arenas to Santiago
Your expedition wraps up back in Punta Arenas, and then you'll fly back to Santiago. You're heading home with memories from the Falkland Islands, South Georgia, and Antarctica. If you want to keep exploring, optional post-programs are available to extend your time in Chile.
