Itinerary
- Day 1
Athens
You'll arrive in Athens and get a hotel transfer sorted right away. In the afternoon, you'll meet with your tour representative who'll give you a briefing on the trip and fill you in on how the city actually works day-to-day. The rest of the day is open, so you can relax at your hotel or start wandering around Athens on your own terms.

- Day 2
Athens
Hop on an open-top double-decker bus with your 48-hour pass and ride the different colored lines (Orange, Blue, Yellow, or Green) to see major sites like the Acropolis, Parthenon, Temple of Olympian Zeus, and the Athenian Riviera. You can get off and on whenever you want. By evening, a guided walk takes you through the historic neighborhoods of Anafiotika, Thisseo, Monastiraki, and Plaka so you get a real sense of the city's character.

Athens
You have the day completely free to explore Athens however you want, or there's an optional full-day cruise to three islands in the Saronic Gulf if that interests you. The cruise visits Aegina (known for its pistachios), Poros with its scenic setting, and Hydra which has no cars and beautiful stone mansions instead. If you go, lunch with traditional Greek music and dancing happens on board, plus transfers to and from the port are included.

Athens to Kalambaka (Meteora)
You'll board a train from Larissa station in central Athens heading to Kalambaka, and the route takes you through some nice Greek countryside. Your driver picks you up at Kalambaka station and gets you to your hotel. In the afternoon, a sunset tour begins at one of the six active Meteora monasteries (either Agios Stefanos or Roussanou), then you'll check out the Byzantine church of the Virgin Mary in old Kalambaka, wander through the ancient hermitages at Badovas, and finish by climbing up the Meteora rocks for sunset views.

Kalambaka to Athens
After breakfast at your hotel, you'll explore Meteora with someone who knows the history well, including which monastery was built first and why the monks chose these steep rocks for their communities. You'll get great panoramic views and plenty of time to take photos. At 17:15 you board the train back to Athens, arriving at 21:30. Your driver meets you at Larissa station and takes you back to your hotel.

Athens Departure
