Day 1 Manaus - Lodge: Transfer from Manaus to Tariri Amazon Lodge. Afternoon tour includes Rio Negro and lakes by motorized canoe, visit local families, explore exotic Amazon fruits and regional customs. Day 2 includes jungle hike with guide educating about local flora & fauna, and piranha fishing. Day 3 involves leisure time and visiting local community to learn about traditions, rubber cycle, and cassava meal preparation. Day 4 includes canoeing tour on lake Acajatuba.

Can we make this tour longer and what medication should I get for Malaria

If you want to make this tour longer, you can add any destination or activities. Regarding vaccination, a yellow fever vaccination is not required to enter Brazil, but is highly recommended. Malaria and dengue are present in Brazil; be sure to take proper precautions to avoid these mosquito-borne diseases. Bring repellents netting and antimalarial, if needed.

Itinerary

Day 1
Arrival at Manaus
You'll land at Manaus Airport and then take a speedboat ride along the Amazon River heading to TARIRI Amazon Lodge deep in the rainforest. After you arrive, the lodge staff welcomes you with regional fruit juice and then you can start getting oriented with some initial activities at the property.

Amazon Lodge Activities
This full day runs from sunrise to sunset with activities throughout. You'll try piranha fishing using traditional native techniques, paddle by canoe through the igapós and igarapés, stop at a local community to see how people live there, trek through the jungle on foot, and learn about the exotic fruits and regional traditions from your guides.

Another full day of exploration from sunrise through sunset keeps you busy with the same mix of activities. You'll fish for piranhas using traditional methods, navigate by canoe through flooded forests and narrow waterways, visit a local community, walk through the jungle, and pick up more knowledge about local fruits and customs.

Excellent tour. Really couldn't be happier with the people (guides), the locations we went, the food at the Carretão, the hotel Windsor Excelsior, the drivers, etc. etc. I definitely would recommend this tour with the limited days we had in Rio. Glad I found TourRadar!!!

Payment information
- For any tour departing before January 2nd, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after January 2nd, 2026, a minimum payment of 10% is required to confirm your booking with Signature DMC. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
- Some departure dates and prices may vary and Signature DMC will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
- The following cards are accepted for "Signature DMC" tours: Visa, Maestro, Mastercard, American Express or PayPal. TourRadar does NOT charge you an extra fee for using any of these payment methods.
