Itinerary
- Day 1
Kigali to Musanze
Your driver picks you up at Kigali International Airport and you'll head northwest for about 2 hours to Musanze, which sits near Volcanoes National Park. The drive takes you through rural Rwanda with views of the countryside along the way. Once you arrive, you'll check into Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge, have dinner, and settle in for the night.

- Day 2
Mountain Gorilla Trekking
This is the main event - mountain gorilla trekking. After breakfast, you head to park headquarters for a ranger briefing that covers safety and what to expect. Then you'll trek with a small group (no more than 8 people) through forested slopes looking for gorillas. Once you locate them, you'll spend up to an hour observing and photographing. If there's time in the afternoon, you can take a short trip to see Lake Bulera and Lake Ruhondo, the twin lakes nearby.

Golden Monkey Trekking
After breakfast, you head back to the park offices for a golden monkey trek. This one's different from yesterday - these monkeys are much more playful and active, constantly moving around and interacting with each other. You'll trek in a group of no more than 8 people and once you find them, you'll follow them through the trees for about an hour as they jump and play.

Landmarks/POIs Volcanoes National Park - Day 4
Mount Bisoke Hike
Following breakfast, you check in at the park offices for a pre-hike briefing about the day ahead. Then you'll climb Mount Bisoke, which reaches 3,711m and is part of the Virunga volcano chain. The hike takes between 5 to 7 hours depending on how quickly your group moves. You'll return to the starting point the same day, so plan for a long morning and afternoon on the mountain.

Kigali City Tour and Departure
After breakfast, your driver takes you back to Kigali for a city tour. You'll visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial, which covers Rwanda's 1994 genocide and the country's recovery and unity since then - it's an important but heavy experience. Following the city tour, you'll transfer to the airport for your flight home.
