Porto
You'll arrive in Porto and check into your river cruise ship, settling into your riverview stateroom. This historic port city sits right at the mouth of the Douro River, so you'll have some nice views from your cabin as you get oriented for the week ahead.

Salamanca
Your ship cruises through the Douro River Valley, a UNESCO landscape, winding toward Spain. You'll stop in Salamanca, a historic university town known as the 'Golden City' because of its sand-colored buildings and the sheer number of churches throughout the city.

You'll disembark your river cruise and board a motorcoach heading south through Portugal's countryside. The drive includes a couple hours of free time in the charismatic city of Óbidos where you can explore and grab lunch on your own, then you'll continue on to Lisbon for hotel check-in.
