Cairo
You'll arrive in Cairo and transfer to your hotel. Once you're settled, there's time to walk around the bustling streets if you feel up to it, or you might grab dinner with other travelers from the group.

- Day 2
Giza - Aswan
After breakfast, head to the Great Pyramids of Giza. If you're interested, there's an option to ride a camel around the pyramids, then check out the Sphinx and the Temple of the Valley. In the afternoon, you'll go through the Egyptian Museum. By evening, you'll board an overnight first-class sleeper train heading to Aswan.

- Day 3
Aswan
Start by visiting the Temple of Isis on Philae Island, which is dedicated to the goddess of love and filled with ancient mythology. Next, stop at the High Dam. The afternoon brings a sail around the local islands with Nubian sailors. You'll see some traditional dancing and entertainment on the boat, catch the sunset over the Nile, then have a traditional dinner at your boat captain's home with his family.

- Day 4
Nile River Cruise on Traditional Felucca
The morning is free to rest or wander around. Later, board a traditional felucca and sail north along the Nile River. During the journey, you'll see sand dunes and water buffalo along the banks. By evening, watch the sunset before docking for the night, followed by stargazing and drums around the bonfire.

- Day 5
Kom Ombo - Luxor
Wake up for sunrise and have breakfast right on the felucca. Stop at the Kom Ombo temple, the only Egyptian temple dedicated to two gods. Then continue sailing to Luxor where you'll get a guided tour of the Karnak temple, also called 'The Book of History' and Egypt's largest temple. Finish with a traditional dinner at a local restaurant.

West Bank
Cross to the west bank, which was the ancient land of the dead. You'll tour the Valley of Kings and the Funerary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. After that, explore the Colossi of Memnon, which stand as guardians of the west bank. Have lunch with a local family, then wander through the bazaars and back streets of the city on foot.

Fly back to Cairo this morning and the day is yours to explore the city however you'd like. Your guide can offer suggestions if you want them. In the evening, there's a farewell dinner on a boat with belly dancing and a whirling dervish show.

Extension: Cairo to Hurghada
This 4-day Red Sea extension starts with a transfer from Cairo to Hurghada. You'll take a snorkeling boat trip and catch an Arabian nights show with folklore stories. The evening has various nightlife options with bars and clubs. You'll also have a full free day to do things like quad bike desert safari, hike the Red Sea mountain trail, go horseback riding, or just relax on the beach.
