Reykjavik
Your trip begins in Reykjavik, where you'll have time to walk around at your own pace. The city's got plenty to see if you're interested—there's the Hallgrímskirkja Church with its distinctive architecture, and the Reykjavik Art Museum if you want to check out local works. Laugavegur is the main shopping street, lined with boutiques and shops worth browsing. If you want to add a pre-program, you can book extra time to see some of Iceland's natural sites before the cruise departs.

- Days 2 - 3
Reykjavik to Greenland
You'll board the ship and head across the Denmark Strait toward Greenland over two days at sea. The Expedition Team gives talks about Arctic ecosystems and how to visit responsibly around Indigenous communities. During the crossing, there's time to get comfortable with the ship, enjoy meals, and watch for whales passing by. Early on, you can book your excursions and listen to expert presentations, so you're ready when you reach Greenland.

Southern Greenland Expedition
Four days exploring southern Greenland's fjords and islands in expedition mode. The Captain adjusts plans based on ice and weather conditions to find the best spots. You'll visit colorful towns like Qaqortoq, see Erik the Red's historical farm at Brattahlíð, and navigate through channels with sculptured icebergs. Norse ruins dot the landscape, and the mountains shaped by glaciers over millennia create the backdrop for this remote wilderness experience.

Landmarks Qaqortoq Brattahlíð (Erik the Red's farm) - Days 8 - 10
Mellembygden and Nuuk Region
Traveling north along one of Greenland's most rugged coastlines means navigating deep turquoise fjords backed by high mountain ranges. You'll explore Mellembygden where Norse settlers once lived and search for the abandoned Ivittuut mining town, now home to musk oxen. Large glacial fjords offer chances to spot seabirds, whale pods, and wildlife from the ship. The Expedition Team leads wildlife watches throughout these dramatic passages carved by massive ice.

Nuup Kangerlua Fjord System
The grand fjord system around Nuuk, called Nuup Kangerlua locally, contains interconnected waterways with the ice cap and Kangiussap Nunaa peninsula as backdrop. This area saw Norse settlement in medieval times and possibly where Viking descendants first encountered Thule people. Old Norse ruins and small settlements like abandoned Qoornoq and active Kapisillit are on your route. Hiking, ice-cruising, and wildlife watching happen as you move through constantly shifting mountain terrain.

- Day 13
Nuuk
You disembark in Nuuk, Greenland's capital and the expedition's final stop. Though it has fewer than 20,000 residents, it feels bustling after days in remote areas. The National Museum lets you see objects from 500 years ago, including the Qilakitsoq mummies. Later, check out local cafés and restaurants, then catch a flight back to Reykjavik this evening with memories from your Arctic journey.
