Kathmandu to Lhasa
Your flight from Kathmandu arrives at Gonngar airport, and from there it's about an hour's drive into Lhasa. Once you reach the city, you'll have time to settle into your hotel and rest up. Since you're coming from lower altitude, taking it easy today helps your body adjust to being at 11,975 feet/3,650 meters.

Later in the day, go to Jokhang Temple, which is considered one of Tibet's most sacred places. Both sites require some walking and climbing, so pace yourself. Return to your hotel afterward.
