Itinerary
- Day 1
Colombo to Kandy
You'll arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport and get driven to Kandy, which takes about 3.5 hours. After you check in and grab lunch, head to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, a UNESCO site that's really worth seeing. Later in the day, take a walk around Kandy Lake and if you're interested, there's a Kandyan cultural dance performance you can catch.

- Day 2
Kandy to Nuwara Eliya
Following breakfast, you'll drive toward Nuwara Eliya, a journey of roughly 2.5 hours. On the way, stop at a tea plantation and factory to see how tea's made and do some tasting. In the afternoon, Victoria Park is a nice spot to wander through, and by evening you'll head to Gregory Lake where you can try boating or horse riding if you want.

Nuwara Eliya
Start early and trek to World's End in Horton Plains National Park to catch the cliff views and Baker's Falls along the way. You'll head back to Nuwara Eliya for lunch, then visit the colorful Seetha Amman Temple which has connections to the Ramayana. Before the day ends, check out the town's colonial-style buildings and architecture.

Nuwara Eliya to Bentota
After breakfast, drive to Bentota on the southwestern coast, which takes about 5 hours. Get settled at your beach resort and have lunch there. Spend the afternoon relaxing on the beach, and then take a quiet river cruise along the Bentota River where you'll see local wildlife like birds, water monitors, and possibly crocodiles.

- Day 5
Bentota
The morning's up to you. You can do water sports like jet skiing, windsurfing, or snorkeling, or just lounge on the beach and maybe get a spa treatment. In the afternoon, visit Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery to learn about sea turtle conservation and release a baby turtle back into the ocean. You'll finish the day with a beach walk or candlelit dinner.

Bentota to Colombo
After breakfast, drive to Colombo, which is about 2 hours away. Once you check in and eat lunch, start exploring the city at Gangaramaya Temple and the nearby Beira Lake. Then hit the shops at Odel, Barefoot, or Dutch Hospital Shopping Precinct to find souvenirs and local handicrafts. If you're interested, check out some of Colombo's restaurants and bars later in the evening.

Take a city tour covering Independence Square, Colombo National Museum, Galle Face Green, and the Old Parliament Building. In the afternoon, navigate through the busy Pettah Market where you'll find fresh produce, electronics, and other goods. Finish with dinner at a nice restaurant where you can try local dishes like Sri Lankan crab curry.

Depending on your flight time, you'll have some time for last-minute shopping or sightseeing around Colombo. Then you'll transfer to Bandaranaike International Airport to catch your departure flight and head home.
