Kigali
Your representative meets you at Kigali International Airport and drives you to the hotel for check-in. Get settled in and rest up before your adventures begin.

Kigali to Ruhengeri
Have breakfast at the hotel, then spend the morning at the genocide museum followed by a city tour of Kigali. After lunch, you'll drive northwest through Rwanda's terraced hillsides for about 2-3 hours to reach Ruhengeri, which sits 25km from the Uganda border and serves as your base for gorilla trekking at Volcanoes National Park.

Ruhengeri
Start early with breakfast, then head into Volcanoes National Park for golden monkey trekking. The trek takes around 2 hours 30 minutes and is relatively easy. Back at the lodge for lunch, you'll then spend the afternoon visiting Ibyiwacu cultural village to get a feel for how Rwandans actually live and work.

Ruhengeri
Eat breakfast early, then transfer to Volcanoes National Park where trackers brief you at 7:00 AM before the main event. You'll trek through the rainforest searching for mountain gorillas, and if all goes well, you'll spend an hour watching a gorilla family go about their day. After returning to the lodge for lunch, the afternoon takes you to Twin Lakes Ruhondo and Bulera for some scenic relaxation.

Ruhengeri to Kigali
Have breakfast at the lodge, then drive south back toward Kigali through banana plantations. The route winds through Rwanda's green, terraced hills and takes a few hours. Once in Kigali, you'll head to the airport for your departure flight, ideally departing after 5 PM.
